I use this in my car stereo to call my guineas when they take off
Imagine having one of these hens right outside your bedroom window at 5 AM. It will literally knock you out of bed.

almost like hadedas ibis, you get used. We had a lot and our neighbours used to say. Your house is too noisy and we always said what noise! I would sleep like baby

Yep. Neighbor's guineas favorite place to do that crap was right outside my bedroom window. After about six months of that nonsense, they disappeared. Coyote probably got them. At least that's what i told my neighbors.

I HEAR IT IN MY SLEEP. I HEAR IT IN IN THE BACK OF MY MIND. 😂😂😂 Once you get Guinea fowl, the sounds never leave you.
Need some of these to keep tweakers out of my yard.
Lovely! And a hardworking “guard bird” with its alarm.

Parrot Paradise Yes! My aunt has a flock of (pet) ducks and two guinea fowl to alarm them to bobcats, coyotes, ocelots, mountain lions, ocelots, jaguars, wolves, bears and snakes! They live in the country near forest and mountain terrain so there are many predators but fortunately only smaller ones visit during certain seasons. Still, the threat is always there. The ducks and other birds are able to take shelter should a predator arrive and the guinea fowl sound their alarm !

That's what I heard too . They are like donkeys....they keep coyotes and foxes and critters like that away . They are not scared that's for sure . Lol
I remember that when I was a child my grandmother had many of these birds. They are very interesting for several reasons: They all lay eggs in a single nest and they don’t hatch their eggs, so my grandmother took them and placed them to the chickens when they were hatching eggs, the chicken would raise them as her own chicks...

@watkinsrory

@@Rebeca37 Of course they raise their young and incubate their own young and eggs in the wild. If they didn't there would be none left as there are several hundred things that would eat them before they even hatched.
A friend of mine has some of these on his farm and he told me they were annoying, Jesus that is an understatement, I would lose my mind being around a group of these all day.
Oh finally fowls. My mom has fowls cause she lives at farm. I loves birds
I live in the city now and started hearing these noises a couple days ago I was pretty sure it was guineafowl but it has been a couple years since I heard them. But yep someone's got some guinea fowl . They're great on the farm when you got some trees and distance and everything else but when you live in the city . Man do their squawks Echo off of everything
I miss my guineas. Mine a soft songbird like sound when not squawking. They’re keeping in touch with each other. When I gardened they would stand and wait for me to finish planting, all the time making this soft whistling sound that was inquisitive. They were asking “Is this human safe? If this human moves we’ll take off, but if not, we’ll wait and rummage for bugs after it moves on.”
Oh god this brought back memories. So a few years ago, a stray Guinea rooster made his way to our yard. We had no idea where he came from and no one ever came looking for him, so he hung out in our neighborhood for a while. Every morning. Every morning at exactly 7:00 am. He would hop on the chain link fence and crow at the top of his lungs. While I was trying to sleep. I adored him, but it was suffering for a while until he was caught by a family friend, and went to live a good long life on their farm.
I grew up in a farm and my grandpa used to raise guinea fowls along with many other animals, so I'm used to this sound and it even brings back great memory for me!
Showed it to my guinea fowl. It is now screaming
I love my guineas.😊
My mom's cousin who lived next to us had these demons. Most annoying shit ever. Drove us nuts.

Again.. No shit! No thx!
Maybe I should’ve watched this before getting two 😟
We have a couple of guinea hens that showed up on our property a few weeks ago . I don't know where they came from... unless they came from one of the farms near by . Maybe someone let out here . I was afraid our cat or the 3 dogs would hurt them , but so far they haven't. Thank God ...!! They are so funny !! We got them some corn to feed them and this morning I gave them some pumpkin, because we carved pumpkin for Halloween last night . I hope that's okay for them to eat pumpkin .
@d.w.stratton4078

I've heard they generally ignore corn. They eat insects, simple grain sometimes, grass, ticks, spiders, mice, and occasionally snakes. Most important thing to put out for them is fresh water, grit (for the gizzard), and a sheltered area so they can warm up in the winter if it gets down below 40°F in the winter in your region.
its like a mini cassowary! every day i become more and more convinced that birds are the closest thing we have to real life dinosaurs
Other one pops in at 0:36 like “Oh my God, that’s my favorite track.”
Interesting tale about the call of the bird, apparently it's call actually takes your soul
When they aren’t screaming they are cute
The best way to wake up in Africa. With a Tarentaal screaming you awake
We have 3 guineas just showed up a few weeks ago. I call them the 3stooges!lol
Grew up with this sound on the farms it’s really not that loud or bad. Kind of like crickets chirping. You just adjust. It’s soothing. Way better than a rooster. Roosters are loud and suck. Lol
My neighbors have these and I hear them all day from my room
I got woken up by a bunch of these today because my neighbors have some and they jumped the fence and came to my backyard.. 😂❤️
if you don't wake up in morning then it's better alarm
We have a three guinea fowl as alarm birds, they work super well when there’s a hawk nearby to let the chickens and pheasants know to get cover

@@ChabertFarm Our pheasants are in an enclosure, they get their own space in the barn as well as a good deal of fenced space outside to make sure they're safe. All the other birds though get to go wherever they please on our 10 acres. We would love to be able to let them out and roam, but they'd be picked off pretty quick.
I really want/need some but I can't handle that noise all day.

Ugly if you ask me. Nasty shrieking noise too! Good tick eaters though.

I want an emotional support guinea hen and bring it on a plane.
I have a dozen in the brooder right now, I got the French Guinness, the bigger meat bird ones, just in case they drive me nuts 🍗
One of the households in my neighbordhood has one of these. Would always hear them as I walked past their road in my late teens and early 20s.
Wow he really chose violence with that voice

Our neighbor has guineas. Thank goodness all of the lots here are 40 acres. I can still hear them, though.
thats about what i expected.
Me and my family are hatching some in an incubator!!!😍
My dad used to buy and cook these birds. The meat is so hard, they had to cook it for hours to get to tenderize.
One of these lived loose in my neighborhood for years. We loved him even tho he was loud.
I love their alarm call,I own 4 of them & when they all chirp in unison I get excited
I obbsessed with Guinea Hens I have 6 Baby Guinea Keets 2 Young Guinea Keets and 11 Adult Guineas.
Oh no! I was thinking about getting some but they sound like a broken car
I played this for my Guinea fowl flock…pissed them off frfr
Beauty and the beast package in a bird. I wonder if they can be "trained" to be "debarked" as dog trainers do to dogs.
Sounds like the bedframe 😉

I heard some loud sounds coming from the neighbors farm over the last few days. I suspected they have guineas, but wasn't sure. Your video helped me confirm my suspicions. Thanks! (I wonder if it is revenge, because I have a number of roosters and ducks).

R you a Bird Seller? Do you eat non veg? Please kindly answer me
I could definitely see that as being a troublesome bird for the noise now, but on a large enough property, behind a line of trees, it could be made more manageable.
