Guild Wars 2 Beginner's Guide For Condition Scourge Build For Open World Content

Ойындар

This is a Guild Wars 2 Beginner's Guide For Condition Scourge Build For Open World Content. We go into a lot of details step by step, to understand the build and scourge in general.
This build offers high damage & high sustain, which makes it very well for open-world content, which includes soloing some hard stuff.
We offer different gear, traits, and skills options for your taste to be able to tweak the build as you like to suit your needs and playstyle.
This video is much longer than my previous build guides, but that is because we go into so many more details. So please let me know what do you think about that style. Do you want me to continue the same way for the future build guides? Or shall I go back to making them short and simple, even if it means we leave out a lot of details?

    My first video with you. I've had a Scourge for long enough that it embarrasses me to admit how much I learned from this video. lol I really appreciated that your video took a look at the Scourge as much as a class as it looks at it as a build by allowing the room to match your budget, your preferences and your options to match the class to the situation. I'll be watching more and I have subscribed. I didn't think it was too long. Actually, it was much shorter than people trying to make similar videos while still carrying more information than in those longer videos.

    I’m going to watch this a few times! Thank you - I have 3 more video ideas for you. 1 - a video that goes into a simple explanation of stats and what they do. Like how concentration work and what it effect, power / vitality/ and so on. 2 what your step by step brake down of how to get to know a class. Like i have one of each class and right now I’m proficient on 2 comfterbal on 3 more and derpy on the rest. Like start with reading all skills, then move to traits, after that how your gear effect the game play, then move on to snow crows or meta battle and read how the damage rotation work. Just to get an idea of hw to combin skills. 3 - ok so i have been back playing the game after like a 5 year brake. IMO the winter berries farm is the best farm in the game PERIOD. I farm with my 9 chars and can get 2 ascended ring off one farm, its truly awesome. So i can put 4 ascended item in slot - stat selectable. From just picking berries. To put two ring in you have to attune one. BOOM two rings. Then you when your done with ascended stuff, you can get obsidian shards. 250 barries is like 7000 unbound that’s 70 obsidonon shards!!!! Then even after that you can get T6 mats from that pack that guy sells - MIND BLOWING

    Congrats on the 1k subs! As I have said before, I'm sure the channel will only keep on growing if you keep up the great content! My feedback on the video length: I'd keep the weapon skills and trait explainations. I really like how you also explain the synergies between skills and traits. The armor, weapons and trinkets explaination is also very good. It's straight forward and simple. Something most other people don't do is talk about alternatives. You talk about them for gear stats, runes and sigils, both in terms of player preference and budget. IMO that's a must keep. You also talk about other build options so people can adapt to the situation or content they are in. Also a very good thing. What I'd change: Since you have various guides, my suggestion would be to make a set of videos explaining the classes, their specializations and what they have different from each other (that would cut some of the explaination from the build video, like when you explain the shades and stuff). That way you can link said video at the beggining of the build video so people can go check it out if they want/need to learn the class or specialization. Another video idea is a Boons and Conditions one where you can explain them all (including stuff like Barrier and Superspeed - which aren't classified as boons but are still buffs), and refer people to it so you don't have to explain them during the video. Maybe move the Food and Utility buffs before the build variations as they are part of the "main" build that you show. Also a good job on showing budget options for these. Sorry for the lengthy comment but i tried to give both pros and cons to be more constructive.

    Great video! Some really useful things I didn't know yet! :) I 'switched' about a month ago from my power reaper to condi scourge just to try something different and scourge is insanely fun. My build is a slightly different version to the MetaBuild open world condi scourge. Full trailblazer (1 exotic, rest ascended by now) with rune of the undead and the death magic skills. With death magic you apply carapace to yourself everytime you apply poison to an enemy, so your toughness increases with every stack of poison and rune of the undead increases your condi damage by 7% of your toughness... increase your sustain and damage at the same time! :D Almost unkillable with 25.5k life and all the barriers you are spaming by just using your skills and an AoE monster as well with epidemic, ghastly breach and desert shroud! :D

    Really appreciate you taking the time to explain the basics for people looking to try this out and don't know anything about it yet. Could I please ask, you mentioned that sand shades do not stack with the effect around your character, but do they stack on each other? For example, if I spawn three sand shades in the same location and press my F1 skill, will my F1 skill apply triple the damage/conditions? Another thing I noticed is that the sand shades are not very large in radius, and are stationary, so I am wondering how much of a problem it is that mobs will simply move out of them. Would you normally just keep placing new sand shades under the enemies as they move? Or would you try to move your character next to the mobs so you can trigger the effect with your character instead of the shade? Or would it not matter much if the mobs moved out of the shade since they are already inflicted with the condition damage? Sorry for the beginner questions, they might seem obvious to experienced scourge players.

  • @GamingTutorialswithJohny

    @GamingTutorialswithJohny

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you very much! I am really glad you found it useful 🙂 No need to be sorry at all. You can ask whatever questions you want, and I'll be happy to answer 😉 1- You can get the effect of shades and shroud skills only once. That can happen through the player, which counts as a shade, or any of the shades. And that effect can be applied only once. So if you have 3 shades + yourself right beside any enemy and use any of your shroud skills, you get the effect only once. 2- The shades are indeed small and being stationary can be a problem. So ideally you want to keep placing them where the enemies are. You also benefit from more stuff when you do that anyways. But at the same time, I always prefer melee style, and so 99% of the time I am already close to the enemies to trigger the effect around me. And since the effect can be applied once anways from you or the shade, it's not a big deal if the enemies are away from the shade.

    @@GamingTutorialswithJohny Thanks very much for your fast and detailed response :) That is interesting, I was wondering why I was seeing people put sand shades down on the enemy when they were already close enough to trigger the effect from their character. I have also watched players put multiple sand shades around their single target from a ranged distance. I was wondering what the point of this was if they don't stack. Now I realise it would be because just placing a sand shade is a skill that does damage and inflicts conditions, they aren't using it to get their shade abilities to come out of the sand shade as well. They are basically using F1-F5 as the same thing, a regular skill that does damage. Might sound obvious but it just hit me haha.

    Torment condition damage has been changed from moving targets to stationary targets. This seems like a huge nurf for scourge on top on their notorious small damage. Is it steal reliable to play open world scourge like before that change? Why did they nurf it?

  • @GamingTutorialswithJohny

    @GamingTutorialswithJohny

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes this build is still VERY reliable in open world content. Scourge is my main in open world and that did not change after the patch. And I think we need to clarify some points. 1- The torment change is a nerf in WvW & PvP, but it's a buff for PvE, since most of the time the enemies don't move as much. 2- Scourge DOES NOT do small damage. In fact, it's easily my one of the top damage dealing classes for open world and it offers a lot of sustain. 3- Scourge is not one of the highest damage dealing classes in group content, however this depends on many many factors. 75% of the time if I use a DPS Scourge build in group content, I am always one of the top DPS

Im new to the game still and have some trouble dodging stuff, but I was wondering if full trailblazer is a waste of stats compared to viper even for a newer player. Im mostly interested in managing to solo harder open world content, like some HoT hero points.

  • @GamingTutorialswithJohny

    @GamingTutorialswithJohny

    3 жыл бұрын

    Not at all 🙂 If you go full Trailblazer you will have amazing sustain and still very good damage. What I personally would recommend is start with Trailblazer, and do whatever content you want to do. And in few days, try to do the same thing again but maybe switch out one of the trinkets to Viper if you already have that, or another cheap alternative from the TP like Rampager or something. If you felt like your sustain was still good, then stick with the viper. Keep repeating that until you feel like you have a good balance you are happy with

    Honestly in terms of Armor I personally prefer Trailblazer (Rabid for Budget) with Viper Weapons and Dire/Viper Trinkets, the extra survivability makes it prob one of the most safe options for open world. Thats (As always) just personal preference though, since you already deal a lot of damage with the conditions and unlike say Condi Soulbeast you dont use Power that well imo (At least when compared to Reaper or the affor mentioned Soulbeast). It is weaker for Zergs though so thats something to keep in mind. For Zerging Viper probably still is the best Armor for Condi builds.
