Guidelines for eating Lake Ontario fish

Do you know how to interpret the Fish Consumption Guidelines? Do you know what 'one meal per month' actually means? Here I show you how many Chinook Salmon of spawning size you can safely eat from Lake Ontario. The answer? ONE per 10 MONTHS if you're an adult male (and only in some locations); ZERO if you're a kid or will become pregnant. That doesn't include PFAS/PFOS contamination either! And although you can reduce PCBs through your choice of fillet, the data is aready from skinless dorsal muscle; the only thing you can do is cook it to remove lipids (that does remove some PCBs but has no effect on PFOS). CORRECTION: note that at about 3:11 I said there are zero entries in Ontario's database for PFAS, however, I failed to mention the online database only goes to 2018, so presumably the PFAS tests were conducted after that (apologies for the mistake).
