Guide To Wafters! | Jamie Hughes & Andy May
Ойын-сауық
Jamie Hughes is joined by Winning Ways sidekick Andy May as they take a look at Wafters and how to balance them with the perfect hook size for Method Feeder fishing. In the video Jamie demonstrates which hook size and wire guage works best with our Micro, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm Band'Um Wafters.

How on earth did people cope without the internet and freely shared info like this? Very well demonstrated lads 👏
Mega mega stuff gents, I have been well and truly educated again! Thank you so much for the content!! 👍🏻

What a difference, great video lads👍👍
Brilliant video well explained 👏
Great tips lads 👏👏
Great video lads, ive been using sinkers on my method feeder so maybe a video about sinkers next time please. 8mm and 6mm sinkers with a size 8 or 10 hook i think i use..
Great bait, tried the 10mm pineapple & coconut wafters on method feeder and had a nice ghost carp, koi, crucian carp, big roach and about 30-40 bream with some good sizes on a 10 hour session. Wanted some more info on the bait so thank for this video 👍
? I had 3 carp 2days ago in three hrs on 8mm wafters on size 16 hook ? Method feeder
Well this is all well and good so how should it then be loaded on to the feeder to prevent it from being wafted off by find of the fish cos it can't be on the top can it? You didn't demonstrate this with what this video was all about e.g. On the pile as in one mouthful ? Maybe a demonstration in your tank?
Bread worm and pinkys is all ya need
Great video lads!! Would it have the same outcome if the wafter was on a bayonet instead of a band?? Thank you

The bayonet is heavier than a band so it does effect the buoyancy of the wafter. Generally you'll find the eye of the bayonet sits on the bottom with the wafter sitting above it but in terms of hook sizes the difference is marginal. Have a play around and see.
Do you think MCM-B Size 12 is good with 10mm ?
What happens if use wafter with a couple of maggots though?
So do you reduce the line diameter when you reduce the hook size?
@Sonubaits

Line diameter would be entirely dependent on target fish size, so generally yes, bigger hookbait in theory would mean bigger target fish but not exclusively. With Micro Band'Ums and a size 18 hook then 0.16mm would be suitable as generally you'll be targeting F1's, bream and occasional carp so you can take your time. With a big 8mm or 10mm then 0.20mm diameter hooklengths with the bigger hooks would be standard.

Fantastic video, keep these two idiots together they bounce well of each other. What type of spike was used?
Surely it doesn’t matter how slowly it sinks if it is used with a feeder. It’s only going to matter if it fished as a stand alone bait.
Interesting and informative but please don't discard line, even little bits.
