Fantastic! Alas, every Illustrator technique I learn seems to reveal another dozen features I've no clue about
I never knew what that 'clip' thing was for until now, thanks, Nathaniel!! Great explanations for these techniques.

🔥🔥🔥
cool!
That was a lot packed into one tutorial. You demystified masking for me 😃 Your pace was a bit fast for a beginner tho. I will try all these things and hope I can get them to work as shown. Great artwork btw! It's cool to watch someone as skilled as you work.

Thanks man, I got the good habit of wanting to learn everytNice tutorialng before I start sotNice tutorialng (wNice tutorialch is impossible) tNice tutorials quick guide is what I
Your tutorial is amazing and helped me a lot. But I still have a question: how do I put the drawing inside a shape and leave part of the drawing outside the shape? In this drawing you used for example, how would I make the top of the girl's head stick out of the ellipse?
nice
Thank you so much sir for this amazing guide ! I am new to AI and i still have a lot to learn.only problem is that i use AI for ipad. Please make ipad tutorials as well!!! Thank you once again.
I'm trying this tip, but I have groups of shapes and use pathfinder to unite but failed in masking. So, I copy and paste it into Affinity Designer, unite, then copy and paste back to Illustrator and the masking worked.
Love the retro girls you made too. I’m very curious how you made the stippling “blush” on her cheeks
Thanks for the video. I can see the pattern, releasing video in 2 weeks gap

I'm coming back and trying to make more videos! Thanks for watching! :)
Where can we get the images you use in the video?
Hmm how do you make the preview in the layers panel so large? You can actually see what the layer is!!
How do you draw outside of a shape?
i have illustrator cs3 and i cant find the "draw inside" option- is it not available for cs3 or is it located elsewhere?
I have a subject made to hold another object. I want one arm to go on top of the object while the other is behind. Can i achieve this with masks?
Hey Nathaniel! I'm a big fan of your videos. One suggestion I have that's pretty small is to choose artwork that you can link to in the description so we can follow along exactly. It may seem trivial bc there are thousands of free resources online but for those of us learning 100% on KZread, it's nice to be able to follow along exactly with the same art. Not providing the art can also serve as a roadblock in your views since people need to pause, find an image, make sure it works with the tutorial, etc. I hope that's helpful. I really love your channel and want to see your videos getting the playcounts they deserve! You're an awesome instructor and I appreciate the work you put into these videos.
Ok I'm having a problem with if I have a png file. Something that I didn't create. How do I mask that?
How did you create a clipping mask without having any other object selected? It looks like you only have your rectangle selected. I cannot create a clipping mask without having something to clip selected as well.
Honestly, what the hell happened at Illustrator? it seems like it's getting more difficult to use. I could do all these things few years ago, now I can't even find many of my most used features
never glitches roflmao😆
Ah man for a second I hoped he'd explain the drawing.
