To the person reading this, alot of people are Planet Eclipse fanboys for a reason, they work really well and do not break often. I went with an AMP. I'll tell you why. I played 15 years ago and was a kid. I was 14-18 years old. I didn't have alot of money and bought used higher-end guns in the $600-800 range. I did this to get a higher end gun for cheaper. I'd often trade the gun I was running for a while plus cash. I learned that most used guns at the time were wore out and sold because they needed parts. This is not as much of a problem now a days. So this concern is a bit dulled now. But my point still stands. Used guns with 20k shots are going to have wear that you may or MAYNOT have to deal with. So I wanted new. I was looking at used 170r markers and even used 180r markers. MazensPB, the lonestar NXL event, various used websites. ALOT of options at $650-750. I always wanted a shocker from the SFT days. I even had one at the end of playing but it was wore the hell out and went down alot - bad experience. Again I wanted new. So when I found NEW AMP's in stock on a few websites for $650. Brand new, it was a no brainer for me. 170r's brand new are listed $800 and are out of stock. The 180rs are $1k new. The amp does have a small front foregrip but it isn't a problem for me. I don't even think twice about it. I was able to get a NEW AMP that is just as good as a 170r or hell even the 180r while saving $100-300 over a USED 170r or 180r. Now I have a new marker, the O-rings, a warranty. I got the color I wanted and I have a freak XL barrel. That $300 bought me a brand new HK Alpha Air CF tank. Personally I really really like my AMP, I have about 4 cases of paint through it and its butter smooth, one chop that was my hopper being off. The gun is insanely light, good build quality and its all metal. No Etha3 plastic for me. Honestly for me it would be: Cheapest Best - Etha3 Best under $800 - AMP Best at $1k - 180R

To expand - I considered spending more as I now have a budget that allows for it. But once you get to etha3/170r/AMP level, the differences are very small in the shooting characteristics and its more about egos and looks. Spending $1050 on a 180r or $2000 for a LUX idol will net you 1% difference in performance. Its almost nothing. The CS3 shoots very very similar to my AMP. Its the fit of in the hands mostly. So its a budget, materials, Flex game at a certain level. If you play once a month with your kids, and have deeper pockets get something sick to look awesome. If you just wanna play and have a top quality marker an AMP or Etha3 will keep up with anything.

I am 47, and now I get to play like 2 times a month with my son. So my AMP works just fine. I have all the upgrades on my AMP so I love it.

They make stuff for the Etha3 I tricked out mine ! It went from a 5 to 6 hundred dollar marker to a 9 hundred dollar marker easily. Better barrel, soft core, deadly wind valve. It's easily a tournament marker now

Honestly the Etha /meek line are the most modable markers out there . In my opinion . Like the tippman line of yesterday.

Why didn’t you buy a used luxe?

My first marker was a mini gs. Upgraded to a used luxe after 2 months

My was etha 2

3 trains of thought. A New Etha will do it all and last 10 years. And be a good back up \starter gun for friends you introduce to the game. Save a bit more and buy a new tip mid range like 180r and be good for scAling for 10 years. Buy a 160 type gun used and call it a day for 4 years. 20 year player here passing on this "in the market today" wisdom for beginners.. cheers!.

PS whatever you buy. But a barrel kit. Best thing you can buy for any gun.

@@jasonrebelo181 I was thinking instead of buying a barrel kit, spend extra money and just buy a gun that comes with good barrel kit like a 180r. And used guns are a better bet because a new 180r after you use it is a used 180r when you sell it

That now applies to me too haha, long story short I got a CS3 last week on an unreal deal from a sponsor couldn't say no, and in that time frame my (now)backup Etha1 has been used twice at the field due to one players LV1 breaking down during practice and and a few days later when a friend's Axe became a piss taker at recball he used my etha for the rest of the day. If I decide to sell the CS3 down the road it will always be a CS3 :) and I won't lie you definitely don't need it. If I had to buy again I'd take the 180r or a used 170r over this new CS3.. for the record it's amazing but those two kits (with inserts) are just as good 👍🏻and way cheaper👍🏻. Etha3,or used upper middle tier guns for beginners starting now would be my input. Cheers and get out there and have fun. Don't need nice gear to be good at paintball. That's for sure haha

I used a empire resurrection against a d4 team after broke my ASA, if you want to get into tournament just go out there and get your reps in, worry about your gun afterwards.

I wanna get a mini gs but im 6’4” and i feel like it would be to small for me. What do you think?

I got a big dude on my team; he had to use a minigs after his gun went down it looked so funny on him, but it go the job done.
