I am v proud of her achievements , we were classmates & her mom Mrs.Verma was our teacher. I was introduced to Mr. Alqazi by our principal Mumtaz Apa as well because he wanted to meet girls who can act,& Surekha & I always were part of Urdu & English plays. Love her work .

didn't have TV in earlier days nor (we as children) went to 'parde wali picture' (rural/town :P cinema) but i recollect bits and pieces of BaB (Banegi Apni Bat) and Tamas. Phenomenal person and even more as a performer, the emotions - the voice. overwhelming to read in the comments that some have had the -luck- opportunity to know her in real life and work with her. Is she the wife of Mr Nasuraddin Sah?

Munshi Premchand godan was perhaps her one of the best performance.

So much to learn from her! So very talented still so humble. They say old is gold and she truly justifies the proverb! Huge respect mam!

Bhai Urdu Sanskrit aur Farsi ka mix hai. Hindustani zabaan hai...toh kya hindu aur kya musalmaan...baasha ki mazhab hoti hai bhala?? badi meethi zuban hai urdu...chahe woh surekha bole ya sakina..boli toh mithi hi rahegi.
