In case anybody here is confused about the Blu Cantrell "Minecraft" song: This song is on her Spotify listed as "A Song of Love for Logan", a duet with Amandla Stenberg, actress that was in the Hunger Games movies. The voice in the clip singing "Whenever he plays Minecraft..." is Amandla's not Blu's, so there was no way anyone could have guessed it. At first, I thought the song was absolutely insane and I couldn't believe whether it was real or fake, but then I did more digging and I realized that it was actually made by an organization called the Songs of Love Foundation, which creates songs using songwriters and performers, occasionally celebrities (Blu and Amandla, I also saw Jason Mraz and David Lee Roth there too) to support and uplift the spirits of children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. So basically the nonprofit got Blu and Amandla to team up and reach out to a sick kid named Logan who loves Minecraft and make a song for him to help him and his family. So it went from really confusing to really heartwarming in a quick moment lol. Hope this makes everything clearer! There is no excuse for the Wild Cherry thing though that is just weird

Graydon was such a good host, I’ll be sad to see him go in four years. Hope he doesn’t have a change of heart and ruin his planned successor’s experience on the show, sabotaging him and ultimately forcing them both out of the position they both wanted, and proceeds to wonder why everyone blames him for the situation. hivemind has made a grave mistake. one of the songs in this video was not actually by the band. that wild cherry song is called energy and it came out in august 2023. wild cherry broke up in 1979 and has not reunited since. that song is by a different guy who has no relation to the band. spotify does this thing sometimes where it will take two different artists who have the same name and mix their discographies together. basically, that is not actually a new wild cherry song by the band from the 70s. if you do not hear from me after this it is because graydon is outside of my door and will shoot me for revealing this information

I don't think that's the same Wild Cherry. As far as I can tell, the original band haven't recorded a note of music since 1979; the main guy recorded some "adult contemporary jazz" in the early 00s, but that's about it. This Wild Cherry appears to be...some guy?...who recorded a handful of songs last year and may have been so high he just didn't realise there was another band with the same name.
