A goal on the stroke of half-time turned out to be a killer blow for Guernsey on Wednesday night.
Having been just about the better side in the first 45, the spaces the Green Lions exploited in a bright display were shut down after the break by a Southall side happy to tighten up the gaps and pick their moment, and two headers from corners saw them ease away in the second half and put themselves in a strong position to secure a play-off place.
