BUSTLE article: What Is Kida Doing Next? The 'So You Think You Can Dance' Winner Is Just Getting Started By MICHELLE LULIC Sep 13 2016
During Monday night's finale of the hit FOX series, So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation, fans of the show were finally able to vote Kida Burns "America's Favorite Dancer." Of course, this means that However, the fact that he'll no longer going to be dancing on the series every week doesn't mean that Kida (also known as Kida The Great or Lil Kida) is even close to falling into obscurity. With a $250,000 cash prize from the series and more dance experience under his belt, the 14-year-old from Sacramento, California is just getting started - and as a result of all of his success, already looking towards his future. In fact, because of his title as winner of the series, it's not that difficult to find out what So You Think You Can Dance's Kida is up to next.
First up, along with the rest of the Top 10 contestants from SYTYCD Season 12, Kida will be kicking off his victory with a spot in the 2016 So You Think You Can Dance Tour. While official dates and locations haven't been announced as of yet, the tour (if it's anything like the show's previous tours) will likely include stops around the country so that fans can see their favorite dancers perform live. (As for whether or not the tour will include Kida and Fik-Shun's show-stopping hip-hop dance, well - future ticket holders will just have to wait and see.)
Of course, being that Kida was in fact the winner of the series, it would also seem likely that he'd go off on his own to perform within numerous forms of media in addition to the tour. I mean, after all, he is only 14 years old, and his résumé already includes everything from viral Vines to television appearances. But, when asked directly about what's next after the finale on the series, his answer was something much more humble than what SYTYCD viewers might expect. "My next dance goals: I'm a teacher. I teach privates [dance lessons] back at where I live and I feel like, if I can expand that even more - and teach masterclasses or be able to show my inspiration to other kids - I would love to do that later in life."
Of course, that doesn't mean there's anything keeping him from the spotlight: As many fans may already know, Kida recently appeared in Usher's new music video for the song "No Limit" (featuring Young Thug), so it's not out of the realm of possibility he'll appear in more videos.
So, keep your eyes out for Kida. His career is well on its way up, and nothing's stopping the climb now.

People are saying he has no energy in his movement. Understand that it isn't always necessary to be so energetic with your movement and that's why i appreciate Kida. He's one of the few dancers I know who has control, good isolation and interprets the songs extremely well. It's not always about the big, overly hyped movements, sometimes it's the smaller more intricate moves and how you groove with it that really adds flavour and style to a dance. For me I prefer that and that is why I love Kida's style, he doesn't go ape unnecessarily like I see too many dancers do😩...he is so chill and easy with it. It's not everyday super saiyan level 10 sometimes chill!

Actually takes a lot of energy to isolate the muscles for those movements. When people say stuff like that they don’t really know and understand dance! All I see is smooth energy and power when he moves. I love it!
I love how much control this kid has. One day if i get big in dance I hope I can get on yak. It'd be dope.
Kida the Great if it wasn't for your appearance of sytycd I would not have had the courage to go to an acting audition for performing arts highschool(I lost my uncle- u lost your dad) If it wasn't for your appearance on television of sytycd, I wouldn't have made it to performing arts highschool as an actor. That reverse at 0:56 is so insane you would think it's a video edit. He knows it too, look at that smile after he did it.
There is constructive criticism and ppl who talk shit just to talk shit. This kid has an authentic style which is straight up locking mixed with his own touch + some body control technique. If you deny his talent that just means you know nothing about musicality. Dude might be a kid but he's almost already a master in his craft.

By definition, locking is "involving quick arm movements punctuated by briefly held poses" Even though he's not performing to funk music you can see some influences (IMO). But yea, you're right, maybe the term is innapropriate for this video
He dont wanna be like other dancers. that's just his style; simple, sleek, smooth. ain't too many out dancing him.

Kida definitely my favourite dancer alongside Konkrete (hold tight Style B). Kida definitelty represents the youth. But is equally proficient in popping, animation and the rest. xRichardB Gamer some people get mad or upset because they see no energy. Most dancers don't have emotions or any energy in their moves. Im a dancer and I danced to this same song, even tho I don't have a dope camera and I'm not famous I think I had a lot of energy in my moves. I didn't really like it, but if you liked and thought it was dope, who am I to judge. No one is gonna like the same thing. There's always gonna be people who don't like it.
