The 26th day of the first lunar month marks the Guan Yin Treasury Opening Festival. There is a ritual that you can borrow a “Guan Yin Loan” from the goddess. It is a unique culture in Hong Kong among other regions with Guan Yin Temple. Worshippers can visit the temple and get a red pocket with a number on it. It is a random number which may vary from 3 million up to 1 billion (dollars). It is believed that the number is how much money Guan Yin will lend you. Also it is kind of a test for people to see how lucky they are in the coming year.
