It is a military band, but that does not subtract merit to their interpretation to a classic piece of music.

Ivanoe Cubillos no I think it does to be honest, a composer and orchestrator work meticulously to choose the right part for the right instruments then to have an arrangement without any strings is a bit of a disrespect to the composer’s original vision. I accept that if people want to have a differently orchestrated piece that’s up to them but it can’t be held in the same regard as an orchestra that’s at least got the right instruments intended.
I am not a musician or a critic of music. Because I have listening so many orchestras from different countries, adult, children, juvenile, military and classic orchestras I think I am able to hear and differentiate: This is an excellent, wonderful, etc of an interpretation. Also I do not discriminate an orchestra from where country is. If an orchestra is new or their member are quite young I could think they are learning and need more experience. It is not the case of the orchestra of R.O.C. of Ministry of National Defense Symphony Orchestra. Thanks for the answers to my comments.

輕騎兵序曲! 五十多年前就讀台中一中時就常聽學校的樂隊演奏此曲.記得好像還得過當時全省中學樂隊比賽不同屆的冠軍一兩次(指揮為吳博厚老師).
