    The box culvert. To me, at least, considering it's length a bit of a Dr. Phil moment when it was being built. They must have known it would have had to have been replaced in due course, so why not do this in concrete?! Slap forehead.

    I guess they didn't have the foresight at the time. It did manage to stick around for quite a long time as it was not replaced before the line was abandoned. If there was any rock in the area they would have likely made it out of rock instead.
