Was your car vibrating when taking off?

I pulled the subframe on my MK6, pressed in a new doughnut mount and added the dog bone (both from 034). I could only stand the NVH for three days. Took it all apart and put the stock stuff back. An insert is the way to go-less NVH and easy to take out if you don't like it!

I had the ECS insert in my 2021 GTI manual for almost 2000 miles now. I think the benefits outweigh the cons and I really like how it drove after installing. The clutch engagement feels more natural without the engine moving a ton, which also helped me shift it better since it was my first manual car. No wheel hop, and vibration is not that bad. Very easy to get used to.

is the insert the same as the dogbone mount ?

Once you do top mounts it does vibrate a lot more but when you know what you got you know what you got. I like your videos good for helping people keep up the good work. I never own a VW. But I may get one 2022

I busted the bolts on my MK6 with K04 turbo. Engine moved forward and kept the fans from spinning so it over heated. Fast and easy upgrade if you're going to tune your engine

I put an insert and aftermarket dogbone mount on my 08 MKV GTI. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Nasty vibration reversing up a slope, but otherwise effectively no vibration. No axle hop, no banging on hard acceleration. This and a Whiteline rear sway bar made my MKV perfect for me - no more rear wheel hop going round corners with gusto, just a faint bit more load on the steering making everything feel better.

I got the same but for a mk7. the vibrations in reverse gear is a lot especially on a slope. Just wanted to know if this will mess up the drivetrain in anyway or am I good?

By BANGING, do you mean when going from 1st to 2nd during launch? That's what happens to me sometimes when I launch it

​@@eligoodwin6900 You would possibly get some axle tramp going from 1st to 2nd, mine is DSG so probably it's more likely caused by fairly violent engine rocking with the standard dogbone softish mount. I once experienced a violent bang from the right front when doing a left turn at pretty insane speed and the traction control slammed on the brake.... maybe this can also happen under launch? Anyway, upgrade your dogbone mount and insert. the slight vibration reversing uphill is nothing.

If you guys are up tuning your GTIs, Do your upper motor mounts as well. Oil filled mounts don't stand up to the increased torque for very long. You will get used to it and love it. Black forest stg1 mounts mk6 gti.

@@vwgti8091 No, I guess it depends on what tune you get. I got the unitronics tune to stay safe, I also got my suspension inspected and didn't have to replace the dogbone. But I did have to replace the aux water pump which was probably due to tunning it.

If you had a 2D mk7 GTI... Would you do a allwheeldrive conversion? People say (Just buy a R)... But the thing is... they don't make a mk7 2D R. I think it'd be badass.... obviously it's expensive to get all the parts. But just buy a salvage R, and take the rear diff, and Haldex system.

I like what you're doing here and I recognize these streets ... I used to live a stones throw from Mesa High. Is Taquitos Jalisco still there at Gilbert & Broadway? The best tacos al pastor and price to go along with it, their beans are legit too.

You should get a big break kit then go for more power

My uncle had his pendulum snap at the stretch bolt with this kit. Get rid of it and go with something else. It shifted his motor forward, coolant hose into pulley .

Yeah that’s because he most likely only did the insert and pendulum mount. I guarantee you if he got the upper and lower engine mounts alongside them it would still be good.

here it was a 3"dp and stock catback

after 25k miles my dogbone mount bushing is destroyed and i get severe rattle and shake in reverese. not sure id do it again.

Do you think it works for golf R?

Can you do this on ramps with just the front up?

Are you running res delete and full exhaust on this car, if so what company?

What tires do you have? When you take off I hear no tire spin whatsoever. My mk7 GLi as soon as I step on it barely it starts squealing like crazy. I have toyo tires.

I got pilot sport 4 a/s and it made a huge difference. It's hard to spin the wheels now

Would this fit 2018 mk7.5

On my Mk7 1.4 Tsi, I have knocking on front right side (passenger side), when I start the engine - the same second I hear knock (tuc), on small bumps, on uneven road only on low speed 0-20km/h, on speed bump i hear the same sound. When I quickly release the clutch several times in reverse or forward I hear the same knocking. I went in several service who works only suspension, and they said me everyithing with suspension is ok. But knocking is still. Does it engine mount, or something else? Drive me crazy. How do I check this engine mount is it good or bad? Which symptoms your car has it?

Does Polyurethane breakdown overtime?

Why does the car have to be on stands? Why couldnt i just drive up onto ramps? Does the weight have to be off the suspension for this job?

I got mine start of 2020 and rn the price would be about the same. My personal opinion would be to wait because the entire market is overpriced. But if you need a car you need a car. Put 12k miles on it so far and it's a forever car. It's a Mk7, dont like the Mk8s

3.75 premium in Phoenix! People voted for expensive gas in Ca. Clean air tax.. You get what you get. Sux tho, I agree! When I go home to SD I have to deal with it. My 8p A3 sportback gets about 27-30miles to the gallon. Thank goodness.

I've got the ECS mount insert only. Reduced wheel hop a lot! The mount is almost invisible EXCEPT when reversing up an incline or steep driveway. The vibration actually rattles panels (I've got a DSG) but I've learned to live with it. Do you get this as well?

What's the point of torquing the bolts to a spec if he's then turning them another 90° afterwards?

Cause that’s the torque spec for literally so many bolts. For instance 40Nm + 90degrees. The 90 degrees is is stretch the bolt as per it’s designed use and also hence they are one time use bolts

This is a transmission mount, not engine. In this case, the difference isn't much since the transmission is bolted directly to the engine. But the mount is connected to the transmission, not engine.

When your Dogbone is lose your engine will lift upwards so it effects engine a lot.

Anyone with a 7.5 notice no wheel hop at all as compared to the 7? Not even when launching or just smashing the throttle?
