GTA Vice City is so good it'll make you get a mullet | Grand Theft Auto Vice City Review
Ойындар
GTA Vice City will make you want to get a mullet because it is the greatest piece of 80s fanfare this great country has ever seen. If not for Grand Theft Auto Vice City, who knows what other game I could get such a healthy fix.
This is my gta vice city review on one of the best GTA games as well as one of the best crime sandbox games ever made. I know many people might consider GTA V the best, but even if you have that uninformed opinion, you simply cannot die that many of the best things about grand theft auto 5 started with grand theft auto vice city and were then enhanced in GTA san andreas. This game is so influencial that following it we saw several gta clones such as saints row, saints row 2, saints row 3 and even sometime down the line we saw Scarface the world is yours. Which is why I took it upon myself to stop playing the absolutely amazing saints row reboot and the fantastic project zomboid so I could sit down and enjoy this masterclass in gaming.
Enjoy the scarface references and the grand theft auto vice city retrospective, I hope you find it mildly amusing.

Born in 1986. Got to see the anti-communist revolution of '89 in Romania live. Heard about the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Soviet Union on the radio. Saw Cartoon Network on colour TV in the 90's, as well as Fox Kids, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel and all sorts of amazing 80's and 90's movies and shows. My mind was BLOWN. My grandparents and parents binged DALLAS and TWIN PEAKS, I was binging Hanna Barbera cartoons, American action movies, KITT Knight Rider, Hercules, Xena, Star Trek, The A-Team, and the odd episode of Battlestar Galactica and Babylon5. It was great, even with all the post-communist corruption. My paternal grandparents made some good money in some business, bought a new apartment, my dad got hired as a fluids engineer by a big American oil company and did very well, my mom could finally get a psychology degree like she wanted. We got a computer and games for it - Final Doom for Windows 95, Dune 2000, StarCraft, Brood War, Diablo, Alien VS Predator, Incoming. We took turns playing, dad would show us older video games on his black&white work laptop, we'd have road trips as a family - him, mom, me, my sister and little bro. We'd listen to Amarok, Tubular Bells, Alanis Morisette, joke around, go to the mountains, the sea side, the countryside. The 80's had their challenges, and the 90's had their bad times, but they were pretty good for me. Of course, everything changed when 9/11 hit, Francis Fukuyama was proven very wrong, history had not stopped at all, and the whole conspiracy globalist sh*t sandwich really got rolling. But it was decent up until then.

I spent much, much of my time on Vice City. I like that it had a main character that actually took initiative. Tommy Vercetti actually DID things on his own volition. He didn't need to be told to do this heist or that heist at every corner, unlike some others (Nico, I'm looking at you!). Mr. Vercetti took charge in the later stages of the game.

You had me right at “I wouldn’t dare to be born until I knew I come into a world that had gta vice city in it.”

This is a gamer's game, IDK what I mean by that, but you gotta accept, this is the game that made me obsessed with Africa by Toto, and Scarface, and Miami Vice, and 80's music, movies and pop culture, and turned me into an honorary boomer, I remember watching MTV and when that crap was just realities and terrible music I always said, MTV wasn't it used to, even though I was born years after the iron curtain felt and with it the little shred of decency society had.

@Owken! no, they had that in Vice City as well. Tommy could buy business outright or after missions where you "dispose of" the original owners and they would generate income which you collected by walking through the floating cash icon. Although taking over is perhaps a bit vague. More like kill the people that ambushed you at the start of the game, take their stuff , and screw over the Dan from liberty city, while also taking out the local cartel boss and setting up shop in his mansion after killing him.
@Owkenn
Жыл бұрын
@@easternrebel1061 Yep, but honestly VCS did it waaay better, you could buy and even invade land and make it your own, and then choose what you wanna do with that business ( Protection Racket, Loan Sharks etc.. ) and even the combat was really good matching even gta 4s combat system, even with all the limitations of the PSP, it somehow did some stuff waay better than VC.
I rented vice city from blockbuster when it came out. Must have been 22 at the time, was totally captivated by it as someone who grew up in the 80s and 90s I felt like I'd been transported back in time. We need a return to developers creating new games with fresh ideas. Even on that old system this game looked magic

This was the game that got my attention. The media was going crazy so I knew it had to be good. Played each one since but this was special. I guess it helped I was mid 20's in the 80's and quite familiar with the 'environment'. Only thing missing was Don Johnson saying "Freeze! Miami Vice". You played Vice City with a gamepad? Hahahahahaha. PC love you long time.

beautiful pimp...just beautiful...I was going in expecting a masterclass review and I got perfection...Vice City set the bar so high it's gonna be extremely hard to top that...hope you have some of that magic powder left for inspiration...as someone born in 84 and was well too young to actually enjoy the 80s but still was a child on the tailend of it to get to enjoy its many IPs...Vice City when it came out for the PS2 was just so well crafted (well maybe not in the super outdated gameplay lol) over how it captured the spirit of that bygone era and man I STILL remember the commercial for it that had I Ran playing over the gameplay footage...damn I miss when games were fun and you could just forget about the world and just have fun...I play a game now...and I'm CONSTANTLY being bombarded by thinly veiled far left politics...I want to throw a rock at a someone...most likely at one of those developers, well keep it real!
