The title of this video should’ve been “If GTA online had consequences”

This was very atmospheric, it kind of gave me some Fallout 3 vibes honestly. You did a great job setting up the tension (no pun intended) and the slow build-up worked very nicely. Awesome work!

Thank you! I'm definitely not used to creating longer length videos and was stepping out of my comfort zone with this one, glad you enjoyed it! There's still some things that didn't work out in the video how I wanted them to, but you can't expect everything to look amazing in a game from 2013. I'm going to be experimenting with something for the next video though and hopefully I'll be able to achieve a more professional and proper movie look with greater graphics in the future 🤌

Thanks, man! It's nice to hear about the fluidity of the movements since the animations in GTA 5 are anything but fluid, especially when you have to combine a sequence of let's say three animations into one, it really does feel like you're watching a game character instead of something more real. That also includes facial animations, facial expressions - overall those were really big challenges when working in GTA 5. Even your weapon teleports out of your hands once you vault over an object and then teleports back where it was once you jump over, it's crazy, you have to fight the nature of the game to make a video. I'll be making another Fallout video, but it's going to be for the Fallout: Miami developer channel for their project!

Spot on! The deer hunting scene was definitely inspired by I Am Legend, there was supposed to be a scene where the main character looks at the sun setting and checks his beeping watch too, but I couldn't find an upper body watch check animation that worked so I had to settle for less just because of the limitations GTA 5 has. I used a lot of infected sound effects in the video for the zombies from Dying Light as well! Even the opening is similar to the I Am Legend opening after the "we've successfully cured cancer" speech and an open shot to quarantined/destroyed NYC. Still really love that movie, it was a big inspiration.

It is criminal how few views this got. Great job man, keep going!

Thank you! Put a lot of time into the sound design, I think it's over 850 audio files in the project and most of them are key framed by hand to be directional, glad it worked out!

This is a masterpiece of a machinima. I hope you make more. The long immersive takes are where this film shines the most. Choreographing the animations so you can't be saved by cutting to the next shot must have taken a hell of an effort. Also the world building... oh my. In 10 minutes we learn so much. Wow this video is incredible !! I want to do a "The Last Of Us" style video someday and I already saved all of those map mods you used a few months ago xD I was also kind of expecting that rabit to get hit by an arrow 😂🤣 (like in TLOU 1) I'm impressed with your one shot scenes, did you take ages to prepare task sequences for the timing and mix your character with tasks and gameplay while the same scene ? I can only imagine how many takes you have missed before getting the right one, or maybe I'm just sh*t at task sequences xD Anyway this was great, top sound design and everything... Well done !!!

Hey there and thank you! I used task sequences on actors individually, first giving one actor about 6/7 tasks depending on the scene, constantly playing it back to see if everything blends well on one character - then I did that for the other characters individually and finally selected all of the actors and started the task sequences to play at the same time all at once to see if the timing is good or not, which it usually wasn't. When the timing wasn't right I adjusted the task sequences for that character that isn't in sync. It did take ages and it was really difficult lol. Also the rabbit scene did remind me of TLOU when I was making it, shame there's no bow and arrow in GTA 5 lol

I started doing setups for my current project and it always takes hours and doesn't finish up exactly like I wanted, can be frustrating sometimes specially when one of your actors just runs the opposite way for some reason when you shoot the scene 😅😅 Well done anyway, this video really inspired me 😊

Your video was for sure my personal favorite. The sets, voice acting, and camera work was really good. I can tell that it probably took a long time to get the task sequences right too. Overall I honestly think it could have placed higher.

Thank you! The competition results did surprise me too lol. The task sequences were a lot of work, but converting all of these post apocalyptic mappings from FiveM to singleplayer was brutal, there was one mapping that caused the entire game to crash so I had to manually disable the mappings one by one to see which one was causing it and there's hundreds of them. I wanted the main character to not look like Trevor, but all of the post apocalyptic clothing and gear mods were only made for the protagonists in SP, so had no choice.

What software do you use to make these? Love it

Good ear! It's a sound they used for Fallout 3's title reveal for sure but it's also in Fallout 4's audio files as an ambient distant metal creak sound. I was wondering if anybody is going to notice it though lol
