No they didn't and you're ready to accept that fact. The only reason mods don't run so well is because modders have no access to modify the engine, so extra performance is taken because of unnecessary stuff.

I mean RAGE is supposed to be a creation of Rockstar, so only they should be able to modify it, and many modders have made performance improving mods, just that they have big visual losses. For optimization, GTA 5 or RDR2 have no stuttering issues on PC or console or even graphical glitches for that fact

@@arnavjoshi7047 GTA 5 and RDR2 have their own issues. Gta online public lobbies has an extremely low fps on last gen consoles, and cause a huge fps drop on PC. Very high options for gta 5 aren't optimized at all for PC. Stuttering is present in RDR2, and TAA is REALLY bad.

But only problem with natural vision is that it needs a very good pc which costs like 1000 dollars while expanded and enhanced can be played on a ps5 for 500 bucks Edit: actually 1000 dollars is not enough, you need atleast a $2500 pc to run this mod at a stable fps

The problem is people are comparing modern advanced graphics mods with an old ass game that is STILL currently running on an outdated graphics engine that was developed on ancient ps3 hardware. The game's graphics engine hasn't been fixed or updated since the game launched way back in 2013. So of course the mods are going to look much better and play much smoother than consoles. That is the fault of old limited console hardware.

Natural vision is cool in most things but GTA V's vegetation looks better, and natural light effects are also realistic

You can't blame the developers for all the situation.Since they also Focus on Optimizing The Game as Much As possible to run at high FPS in most of the devices.Most Modders only satisfy Only high end PC users.

ps5 and xbox series x/s are more than powerful and can easily handle nve. if a ryzen 7 1700 and gtx 1060 6GB can handle nve, 9th gen consoles could blow the system mentioned out of water ( I had a ryzen 7 1700 cpu and gtx 1060 6gb gpu and i was satisfied with the results considering the visual improvements ).

@@skiez7430 they struggle, but not that much with correct settings. I know a dude who sets MSAA to 4x on 4k resolution. of course it will struggle. and 9th gen consoles are more than capable. if a gtx 1060 can run it on 1080P ultra settings with 2x MSAA, ps5 and xbox series x/s can do too.

A PC with the same specs of ps5 and expecially Xbox sx could run naturalvision evolved at 50+ (u have to count online) fps all time with some compromises, while at the same time being better than expander and enhanced, immagine what could have been done of rockstar would have worked with nve modders, making it more optimized and maybe adding ray tracing

Um the leap from PS3 to PS4 is just as big for the PS4 to the PS5. Dude not everyone is even taking these consoles to the full advantage. Like you gotta be in denial BAD if you hooked up the last gen console and seen it compared to next gen with no aliasing, smooth 60fps(not 20fps like PS4 🤡) dolby vision, better audio, and just overall cleamed up image. And the reason I know also is because most dont even have a newer tv and almost everyone i run into playing gta v, doesnt even change their setting, they leave it on fidelity because "they dont know about PS5 or xbox settings"

@@crown_vic3759 he said specifically "both in graphics and in-game content" not in technical aspects that you mentioned, the PS3 to PS4 leap was big and noticeable, and just like DarthWall mentioned, on graphics and in-game content, since the only graphical improvements we got on ps5 was Ray traced shadows, the smoke, fire and explosion effects, and that's it, content wise, there's nothing except for the HSW upgraded cars from Online and their upcoming dlcs, oh and now it has a new menu (which is nice) but that's it, no improvements on quality of life aspects. The main reason that they had those new technical features is because of the technology that they were handed, the so called "faster loading times" and "seamless character-switching" phrases that they used during the advertisement of this game is mainly the hardwares job, and as you said, things such as better audio and Dolby vision are things most people don't notice because most of them don't even have a newer TV, what a statement, it's like saying you are obligated to have a newer TV to fully experience the real gta 5 next gen experience

Finally a proper video i prefer standing still for comparison bkt its ok youre one of the few actually doing side by side.

Everything else looks better, but the rainy city at night in the mod looks too dry with only the odd puddle here or there, the rain on screen is a nice touch however. E&E's rainy city looks absolutely soaked all over in rain, which imo looks better.

It kind of is bad by todays standards, it has poor shadow filtering, no proper global illumination, the reflections are horrible and outdated and the grass looks laughable (And runs rather poorly)

The company needs to have the game able to play and perform well on a vast amounts of hardware meanwhile the enbs, and graphics mods can be hardware specific. Not everyone can afford the highest end hardware and some people like me prefer console due to the convenience

My favourite thing about Nve is I love the reflections, lighting and vegetation. They look so real

Modders outperforming billion $ company : " *COMPATIBILITY HAS LEFT THE CHAT* "

Games are build with optimization as priority. So its obvious that the graphics won't match up with the mods cause mods don't prioritize performance. But I think that GTA should've given the options for the user by providing the base game and adding options for normal and realistic graphics packs in the launcher itself. That way mid to low end PC's can download the normal graphics pack and users who have high end PC's and are capable to run the game on the highest graphics can install the realistic graphics pack. The mobile version of PUBG has this feature.

I think the natural vision evolved mod bring gta v graphics on level of RDR2. But we should also consider the fact that R* is an MNC( a greedy one maybe ;) ). So, considering RDR2, we can say that if they really wanted to enhance the graphics, they could have done even better than the mod. But that would make them lose their profit opportunities. So I believe its just profit-mindedness and pure business strategy(one which i don't like tho) to not really do anything in terms of graphics improvement. chill!!

It's not a case of R* being unable to make the graphics look that good, but rather they're optimizing it to run as smoothly as possible on as many devices as possible. The tradeoff there is that they have to sacrifice on graphics, but at the end of the day they will end up selling more copies.

Amd ryzen 7 2700x GTX 1050ti 16gb ram 60-75 fps without graphics mod (2X msaa) 30-45 fps with graphics mod (medium enb and 2X msaa) Fps could be worse during night time (with graphics mod)

The mod looks better to me in most regards, except for the grass (the popping in from LOD changes was distracting), and the rain (sticking to an invisible glass pane literally adds a fourth wall for me). The reflections of the building were amazing!

What I take away from this is: the visual mod is like real life (in some cases) but I prefer a lot of things (besides outdated veg) from the original, like performance and some lighting stuff.

graphics modes be like: *adds water on ground then adds reflection* and if its not raining *makes everything brighter and adds reflection*

The graphics are better but there’s a nuanced atmosphere to the original that the mod just doesn’t have, something about the original’s haze fog and blend just works, but the mod is undoubtedly an improvement technically

Well Crytek actually did take a modders' mindframe with the first Crysis and that game sold 5 million+ copies on PC alone and FORCED millions of people to upgrade their hardware. That game not only boomed the PC software market, but also boomed the PC hardware market. It's funny because while a bunch of devs are chasing after "wider" consumer markets, when you actually push the boundaries like Doom 3 did, like what Crysis did, and like what the GTA modders have done, the people will follow. It just shows that yes, innovators do outperform the companies in terms of innovation and evolution.

Why people are actually eat up this misinformation, NVE ran just fine on my ancient $300 RX 560 + i5 3470 combo i built back in 2018, solid 60-70 FPS, all you need is to keep Shader and Post Processing at Ultra, the rest is unnecessary and do NOT use RTGI shader

It can be seen from the comparisons that the frame rate sags in the modification, according to the speed of the propeller, in particular, it can be seen in the dynamics of driving around the night city ....

mod looks way better, with the exception being the rain. NVE's asphalt looks matte and smooth instead of wet and rugged as it should be in rain.

my only issue with vision evolved is the motion blur, sometimes its a little overkill

The sky is too clear, everything is too shiny and the bloom doesn't looks good, so thats why it looks off.

The mod is great, and looks freakin' amazing, but I feel like another reason Devs decided not to update graphics and models to a much higher quality is to keep the game looking, well, like it always has. It still looks like the GTA V that we have grown accustomed to since 2013, and I feel like personally if they had upgraded it to the amazing quality similar to that of Natural Vision and other graphics mods alike, it wouldn't have FELT like the GTA V we know and love.

It's about optimization, i'd rather have GTA V looking like it currently does (a game made for the ps3 tech btw, also the map was made in 2011) which even after ~10 years looks hella nice btw, instead of having it look slightly cleaner with atleast 3x less fps and a bunch of lag spikes

yup for graphic i luve the naturalvision evolved but for performance its better e&e... I still like e&e better tho...

Though nve wins,but at 1:44 oh boy look at those textures of grass

I think we forget that this game came out 8 years ago and was honestly waaaay ahead of its time, considering we still don't have something that can replace it

Yea. They were limited by PS 3, and to properly upgrade the graphics to PS 4 or PS 5 (Xboxes) lvl, they would had to redraw every single texture and even completely recreate some sections of the map like interiors (buildings and cars) or guns

Honestly I would take the foliage, textures, reflections and lighting during the night from the Evolved mod and have them with the vanilla games colour grading and fog. Shame that’s not what we got, 2014 R* would’ve done it but 2022 R* either made “Expanded & Enhanced” in a few days or outsourced it to another studio, like they did with The Trilogy.

Ngl the nve looks great but i still prefer the original one because of nostalgia

I hate the whole modders>developer argument. Do your mods run flawless with no bugs? Did you create the artwork and the models or did you just improve the textures? The demand for a graphics overhaul wasn’t large enough for rockstar to spend millions to remaster the game. Also nobody owns the hardware to run graphics like this. We all agree that modders deserve jobs in the industry, but completely ignoring business 101 is naive to me.

to say no one owns hardware that can manage graphics like this is a total fallacy, have you seen Spiderman? Horizon Forbidden West? Ratchet and clank? rdr2? the matrix awakens? Forza? those games all look better than this mod, and some of them are old gen games. Rockstar could've more than gotten these graphics all whilst optimizing the game

@@cbt7270 Matrix runs at between 20-30 fps, not just because it is literally peak graphics as of right now, but because of the fact that it is extremely unoptimized, the fact that it can run at 20-30 fps without optimization is a testament to how strong these consoles are

The rainclouds and water reflection looks better in the enhanced clip. Also in NVE, lightning needs more work. Well pointed out just in case. Honestly the rest of the graphics instances shown are literally mind blowing.

I like at 3:20 that if you look at the bridge in the left, it really looks like irl

Solution: Target 1440p (Fidelity) to Pseudo-2K (Performance) resolution, capped at 30 - 40 fps. Down-res the motion blur by at least 30% of the samples. If that's to grand, maybe try a somewhat graphically slimmed down version of a similar native-though-similar re-shade preset.

imagine just plugging in this mod on a high end gaming beast then going in the game and suddenly the pc starts sounding like a jet rocket, but then you look and it actually has fire blasting out of it 😳

It would be appreciative if modders could also optimize their mods.

Rain effect is really bad in nve, and I love the vegetation and reflection in nve, but in other ways, I really really love the ps5 version of GTA5

Nve has aliasing problems. Expanded edition is great, looks smooth.

Do you mean antialiasing? Just turn on msaa, fxaa, and nvidias txaa (if you have a nvidia graphics card) or you can just buy a higher resolution monitor. Like 1440p or 4K (2160p). Obviously the cheaper option is the antialiasing features, but your game would look so much better with a higher resolution monitor compared to 1080p. And the console edition of gta has terrible antialiasing. Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised if the console version of gta didn’t have any antialiasing. It just looks so bad. Unless you put it at 4k of course.

@@Jarryy console versions of most games look bad compared to pc, bc consoles have to be tuned down graphically to be able to run on peasant machines

3:25 Yeah, both suck, I don't see any helicopter in the reflection.

One thing i think would be cool is showing Online only environments with these mods, something like Cayo Perico or the Doomsday facility.

I'm working in game studio with look depth team, so basically this is my job. In my experience you need to understand the current hardware capability to run your look depth. And also marketing team will supervise your job to meet their standards. So you have two layer of approval for the looks of the game while the mooders just thinking about looks.

True. People also don’t realize that this mod wouldn’t be possible without the developers because all the modder is doing is editing the values that the devs made to alter the look of the game.

Love this mod. Makes everything much more clear. Can't stand the white hazy fog.

Multi Billions Company: We have the best graphical enhancements. Modders: Pathetic.

When GTA 5 was released, it was already a 5+ year old engine and equally as old effects and graphics. So the game is 15+ years old from when it was built from the ground up.

Age of engine doesnt matter as long as it is updated and constantly worked on, which is very obvious it was when compared to gta 4

Now I am just saying this from observation, many things were done better in the mod but things like the rain puddles and driving look the way they do because it resembles rain puddles in real life, they aren’t super reflective because the concrete messes with the flow of the water. When you look at the mod while driving, the air is crystal clear removing any form of atmosphere, while the normal game may not look as good as the mod, I believe that is because they want the game to resemble real life to an extent without going to far. Just an observation not saying the mod is dumb or anything.

Rockstar should've just hired Razed and optimized it for the "Expanded & Enhanced" version or at least have them in the next GTA game. It would be such a waste not to hire someone this talented.
