Coz of covid, it’s over now and some companies adapted to it but some didn’t, it really depends on the type of the job. I believe that a game dev will do as good while FWH but there are security issues which we’ve seen over the last 4 years, first was the male and female character leak, then project name, then the whole ass game leaked in alpha stage, then someones son from rockstar leaked a small video and then the whole ass trailer got leaked. As a company, you would suffer a bit $ loss so it’s only logical to take actions that would be security oriented, you can’t make sure about something when your devs got all the game files and info at home.

My question to you is this, is it ok for company's to make little to no concessions for those us who produce and add value to the product theses companies are profiting off of. Honestly shit leaks and the world moves on, im not saying that companies shouldn't find better ways of keep stuff more contain but why is the solution to always fuck your employees? people are tired, we need a better work-life balance. also final point remote work sure was started because of covid but people would like to keep it because of they can be more efficient with their day and actually enjoy life outside of their career/job. I dont get why there is such a need to defend these companies and billionaires when they dont give a fuck about us and like a machine will run you into the fucking ground until your old and can no longer do anything especially those us that work more labor intensive jobs

I can't remember a time when working in a game studio was not considered a crunch job. They get paid very well for low impact work. Put on a tool pouch and work 80 hours a week swinging a hammer, then see what you would prefer to do. Once you put a hole in someone's home, you are committed to whatever time it takes with hardly a chance to take a pee.

Yea exactly, I worked at a distribution center, showing boxes weighing between 5-25 kg. Then after 3 years I was finally able to get a job at a game company that doesn’t pay no where near what rockstar pays and doesn’t make its own projects, because it’s an outsource company… but no way I’m going back to warehouse 😂 this who complain about “crunch times” they are either too soft or created this situation themselves. I was also asked to stay extra hours, but because I was done with my work on time I told my management that I have family and I won’t stay extra time, and I’m still not fired, still working 🤷🏼‍♂️😁

Btw I would gladly stay some extra hours if I was paid what rockstar pays, and also because I would be able to work on a game like GTA. To have a game like gta in a portfolio is a stairway to heaven, every company will pick you up. So if someone who is working at Rockstar and is not happy with working at the office/hybrid and 1-2 extra hours, then just tell me so we can switch up.

Ow yea, I also can’t remember anyone who worked 8 hours straight, because at game companies it’s usually 6 hours of work and 2 hours of breaks, surfing internet, playing games and chatting with your colleagues. While at a warehouse I was working 8-10 hours and had a total of 1 hour breaks.

Actually, compared to other software developers (e.g. in automotive industry) game developers are getting paid very low. One of my colleagues was working for EA before joining us. And he just doubled his salary with this move. Instead of programming games he is programming image processing algorithms now. So still sth that is not that essential for our all lifes ("low impact work")

Hey all, Fellow rockstar employee here, It’s not as tough as it sounds like the media expresses its at least for me, I work from home and I’ve been ordered to work as much I can and have the energy for, which mean I can spend let’s say 48+ hours of programming/coding etc. then I can take a day off then continue the next day, and all this is so convenient, especially before the pandemic and after, at first it was a change now it became more how to say home to home situation, I felt like I was home at the studio like I did at home, And I also get to choose if I want to work from home or at the studio, at any time, which is very very important/important, //Mr Wolf.

Working from home makes sense why its taking so long for projects to be released

@@craigsampson3386I have a RTX 4070 and I can't also run RDR2 in 60 fps. The graphics are on balanced. But still, it only gets 30 - 40 fps.

I want the limited weapon thing since I played Mafia 3. It is preferable than having a whole weapon wheel with a whole arsenal

It'll be cool in online to see different loadouts if you will, People will have a sniper and an AR or a sub and a pistol Or rpg and shotgun. Marksman rifle and sub machine gun. Instead of how it is now its only snipers and rpgs even though people have every single weapon available. I like using the ap pistol and then it just turns into a sniping match

@@Takeit1500 Yeah but I just liked the mechanic of having a loadout and calling your peoples to change weapons. Its an interesting dynamic if you have to go to a safehouse, car or apartment to collect weapons rather than having rocket launcher spammers. they should also prevent you from buying ammo from your phone or wheel so people don't just spam the launcher

Would be hilarious if you planned out a perfect heist with your friends only to forget to fill up the getaway car 😂 But all of my friends and I hang out at the gas stations on the map anyway because we just cut up and drive around and the gas station is already a natural meet up spot among the car meet and cut up community

That's what working implies anywhere in the world-you're essentially a slave to someone else, especially if you work for a large corporation that plans to make $8 billion in revenue next year. What do you expect from a major company like that when their only concern is getting money? They really don't give a crap about their employees.

I wish people would stop saying release date confirmed no one knows when or if the game is even coming out

@@shadowflame8647 5 days working yes, 5 days in the office was definetly not norm over the past 4 years. more like 1-3 days in the office and 2-4 days working from home (atleast for actual office workers - like game developers are... they can do their jobs just as good from home as they can do it in the corporate office). theres other developers like facepunch that have a 0 day office policy. while i think nowadays they do have an actual headquarters, from what i know for the first few years of developing rust with a team of like 10-15 people, they didnt even have a physical office location and had people just work online living all over the world.

Calling in the employees was a great move in my opinion that way they making the game look and feel as great as possible the want to make something people will remember from generations they are tryna go all out with this one yeah having them work non stop everyday is crazy but I mean come on it's rockstar they know how much people want this game and how much hype they has anticipated they are expecting to make double the money they did in their last projects so they are trying to make it feel as authentic as possible stuff like that takes time and a lot a lot of effort I feel like some people don't understand that but if time will tell I just hope it still feels like a gta instead of something completely different using the gta name like example the Arkham Batman games compared to Gotham knights a lot of people were disappointed it was something completely different

The people working from home probably were proving to not meet timelines. They were slacking as per usual when you work from home. You know the typical "browsing the internet, getting on KZread for hours" staying logged in as if they are doing research, doing minimal work and then walking 25 feet to their bedroom to call it a day. More employees were doing it and production workflow decreased dramatically. Seen it happen multiple times a few years after Covid hit. Companies are starting to bring employees back into the office to work.

We gotta sat back and wait ✋️ for the Masterpiece to be fully finished and cooked no half baked game Rockstar especially GTA 😮😮😮

I can understand the workers fustration but they got to remember sooner or later it was gonna go back to working in offices as the working from home was only ment to be temp cus of the lockdowns and covid... I understand the studies and the employees and what theyre saying but on the other hand rockstar probably also wants to do this to make sure none of the workers are the ones behind the leaks before GTA 6 was properly announced, but either way it was eventually gonna go back to working in a office Do I think Rockstar should think about it properly? Kind of, well when I say this I say it in the way of maybe not removing the ability to work from home but keeping it so that say if someone is on holiday or ill they still got a option to work if they wish to or want to, since the working from home is allowed, or if someone is physically incapeable of working, such as someone on benefits, the whole working from home is what allowed alot of people who were deemed "Incapeable of Work" could of had jobs since they werent required to be in a Office Building... In my opinion i think Rockstar could rethink or rework it instead of removing the "working from home" option

Employees think a great product will arise by working from home where distractions are limitless. There needs to be comradery, leadership and efficiency, all done inside the office. Crunch is temporary, once the product is launched, the industry perks are very good, award dinners, launch parties, bonuses. I think they've forgotten what it's like working as a line cook for 12 hours a day compared to creating art which is GTA 6.

Meaning PC will not get GTA 6 maybe that because of hackers of how many time they've encountered it since GTA III and GTA IV also GTA V! I thinks it is the best idea not to released to PC

Rokstar workers are joke. Working from home means they will keep focus for 2 hours on game out of 8. Productivity always drops drastically as they can do whatever they want and now they will need to work proper 8 hours. "Every week we're getting something new"? Not from Rockstar. It's just all speculation from nobody's. Just sit down. It'll probably be at the very least, another 6 months before we get any more info.
