If you pick Karim as the driver for the Rooftop approach for the Bureau Raid with no prior experience, he'll show up late and be driving a black van, forcing you to escape a 4 Star wanted level. If he does have experience from the Jewel Store heist, he'll be waiting outside with an ambulance, and mentions he wasn't going to make the same mistake again. As for the Subtle method for The Big Score, if you have a crappy gunman and Karim with no experience go into the Union Depository, they'll be in charge of loading the Gauntlets and drop gold during the shoot-out with Merryweather

they don't actually drop gold, they just don't load it onto the gauntlets that fast, and because of this the crew is forced to leave some gold behind. sorry for the nitpicking

@@paulsd9255 would be interesting if when picking the actual heist setup instead of things like loud or quiet there was an easy medium and hard. Something like easy would get you the least amount of money but make it to where even low experience crewmembers would survive. That way they can improve until they can take on higher level stuff for the same cut

For the record, bad crew reduces your take. To maximize your take, you gotta pick the right combination and the right method of robbery, keeping everyone alive. For example, a cheap driver and hacker in the Jewellery Store but then hire Packie. Yes, he takes a large cut, but he robs cases faster, so you can clear out the store entire if you're smart. In fact, it's vital you get two random encounters done, helping Packie escape the cops and saving a female driver from bleeding out (she has high stats and low cut, she's the best one possible). They're vital for increasing your cut.

Yeah, Rockstars logic is honestly pretty dumb when it came to the heist. They for a fact list their rate as low, but the fact is, a lot of the lower crew have unavoidable scripted deaths and the cleaner costs death rate is actually way higher than the pro crew. Its counter intuitive.

I always purposely, gradually get better for story purposes. Michaels been out the game for a while, I do the first heist terrible. Then end with the last 2 gunmen as chef and Patrick. I forget the other names but I’m all for improving the story

I love how most of these are things that go way beyond just skill and were borderline unavoidable. I ended up picking a mid-level team and playing with the same people the entire game, I don't remember losing anyone, but it's still cool that the game lets you "fail" this way.

2:20 - If you're quick enough to take out the cops, the driver will meet the rest of the crew separately at the airfield.

God I remember picking him for paleto score. Caught me way off guard with how sudden that death was alongside his asking if miachel was proud of him tugged at my heart

The last one that michel talking to the crew feels like Online heist all over again but in story mode co-op

I always pick the crew member with the best experience. You end up minted either way.

1;00 fun fact . You can push away the car with the minigun if you it shoot it from forward but the heist member will still be stuck in this position

I always hired the intermediate to best people, and when I met the guy from GTA 4, I always hired him too. Always worked great!

@@benthecat4345 but were there Packie? He and Mota are the only experienced gunmens in the game, and to select Packie you need to find him in the city and complete his request first. So, if you didnt complete his request, one of your 2 most experienced guys wouldnt be experienced enough for this mission

One thing I like the most about GTA V Story is the heist crew choice, choosing certain crews will give you a deep hit into your total money as one of the crew die or injured, hit the jackpot in total money as you choose the right crew and crew development like Ricky (was that his name?) the hacker and the Driver Karim, also a random event where you can recruit a cheap but more experience gunner crew member Patrick.

I rather Stick with Gustavo Mota He is my best crew.

It's likely the guy was not able to shoot the driver of the police car in time while it was driving to him. Maybe the more experienced one shot the driver and he swerved off OR the would-be driver probably died earlier and thus preventing the death of your crewmate. Y'know, butterfly effect.

Well if you pick the skilled crew member, the car won't even show up!

Weird how experience and expertise saves you from a fiery explosion in your face or stops a cop from ramming into you while your teammates just leave you

I'm kinda glad they added a rating system to calculate the odds of success. And they spent extra time to make the whole thing if you choose the wrong crew members which is a win and I am wondering if they will do something similar in GTA6

It can happen to any pilot if you're not fast enough in letting Lester kill the other helicopters. The higher the skill of the driver, the more time you have. If you cheap out, it happens regardless.

Wow the guy with the fire uniform was so skilled that he survived the explosion

For the Big Score to take the max amount one needs to use the chopper approach. You need to take 2 gunmen with you, and you can take the worse ones and they won't ruin the heist. Basically, I wanted to take Packie but since he asks 12% and not 7%, I had to go with the worse one. It's funny how being good at heisting (like Eddie Toh, Gustavo Mota, Page Harris, and Christian Feltz) is actually costing them jobs. The best possible crew member is Taliana who asks 5% (lowest of them all) of the cut and is actually top in ability.

jewelry store heist and the paleto bay heist you can pick up their bags but at the big score you cant so basically you're stuck losing half of the gold.

I love how Gus Mota just shrugs off the backdraft

I find you get more if your gunman from the first heist is Packie then grabbing the bag as is

I went back and replayed the whole game because I felt bad about them dying.

can you imagine a final heist on gta online, even biger than the final day heist? where michael, franklin and trevor collaborates with the online pj and other 2 allies? oh looord that would be an awesome closure for gta online now that gta 6 is relatively close (2 - 3 years)

Trevor will not be there

I've played GTA 5 story mode and I've never lost any crew members they all survived. I didn't even know they could die

I wonder How it Will go in case You choose the "normal" crew (like, the one that is between the worst and the Best)

Same as the high ones However it's difficult to get them

It's good to know that if I have worse Experience as a Gunman, a Magic Copcar will appear and Crush me against a Wall to let me know how Inexperienced I am. Like WTF? That's not his fault that Rockstar teleported a Car into him. The other guy didn't have to deal with that.

Someone in the comments said the experienced gunman shoots the cop driving sooner, causing the car to crash well before it could hit him. While the inexperienced gunman whiffs some shots and gets smashed by the police car because of that. Whether that's true or not, it would make some sense.

@@mycocodog47 That's a great point if it's true, and would actually completely justify him being hit by the car where noone else was. Now I just have to wonder why the cops aren't trying to run over Michael and Trevor because I don't think Most Players would have the Aim to stop them before being plowed by a copcar

@@virtualcynical8515 Rockstar doesn't have any animations for players getting pinned by copcars so I imagine we wouldn't be the target. We'd just get hit and thrown using the physics engine which is less cinematic than this.

@@mycocodog47 yeah that's what I thought too. 0:49 Theres atleast 5 seconds where the camera zooms in on Trevor so it's absolutely possible

I feel bad for the guy in the 2nd heist since he tried to impress the crew members and failed and died in the process

A majority of the deaths with inexperienced gunmen are sorta just really unfortunate coincidences...

You see all high level gunmen have this magical energy called plot armour. You can see it in games, movies and shows that high level gunmen survive 1. Explosions, they are tossed around and look pissed but barely injured when in actuallity that explosion could have obliterated mooks instead. 2. Being shot at, because being a skilled gunman suddenly means that trained policemen and special ops soldiers have worse aim than stormtroopers. 3. Being EX machinaed. Cause aparently being good at shooting means god does'nt want to bother with killing you.

If you do this, it means Trevor’s paranoia with Michael is *correct* . He *is* trying to kill everyone around him, or at least, allowing them to die.

Always thought it was sad how the guy who loved Michael was asking if he was proud and stuff, when Michael didn’t even care

I don't remember that last heist. In my xbox 360 versions they ended on the maze bank gold heist with the bravado.

The only heist I gotta pick up the bag myself is the jewellery one, the rest is golden, probably because I choose the right crew only, and also chef and macreary

If i ever get a spare 50 hours i may replay this game

I intentionally chose the worst crew to make it more interesting

You can pass all heist with the ones who die and gain more money except with the last heist you need a good driver ( look for the girl who only asks for 7% ) and you’re good

I literally hate how some of them are literally just pre-scripted to die

Bro the fire fighter mission I got the worst one

During the heist where the guy got pinned by a cop car they had enough time to drive it back a bit and help

Hint: if you pick worst crew see the newspapers there's low bar

On the jewelry store heist go with the more experienced driver because his cut is less expensive than the fine you pay for the other dude dying

I always use Packie, Ricky, Chef, Tatiana, and Karim. They’re the best and also the cheapest. Except for Packie and Chef. But we gotta hook up Packie and Chef with good money. They’re friends with the protagonists from gta 4 and 5.

1:01 the worst crew is just... sad.. i feel bad for him

Karim as driver and Ricky as hacker will be improving after every heist you take them to, and there's no raise on their pay cut. However, the gunman always dies if its the cheapest one, so its either Packie or Chef(when available).

if u choose chef of gustavo for gunmen on pale to score they don’t get crushed but a low experience guy will

for the big score bad helicopter driver, you only lose him if lester didnt shoot all the enemies before the driver actually gets to the windmill that killed him. so technically, picking him gives the most money or i think i remembered its only because the drivers are in the wrong helicopters, and that you should switch the drivers from taliana as the second helicopter

The video seems to not include this, but during the jewelry store heist I had the best crew and we ran away on dirt bikes. More efficient in the tunnels than the motorcycle

I don't remember doing heist as a fire fighter

Michael saying “wow, you are one serious fucking buzz kill” is much more drawn out and painful when the mission was successful
