What made this episode work is I don't think it started out to be serious. But at the end, the role play was amazing and you felt the loss of the officer. Hats off to Jeff for selling the emotion and hats off to Buggs for great camera work there at the end. That pan back as Jeff was driven away was so somber. You just see the aftermath of everything and then you guys talk of how real this actually is. Great video. The Streamies award show needs to nominate this episode.

This hit me hard. My dad was a traffic unit for the Blue Springs Police department. He was in a traffic stop and got hit by a speeding truck. Luckily he was in his vehicle, although he didn't have his seat belt on cause he had just sat back down to run the info of the guy he stopped. He survived with some injury but he got a concussion. Pay attention while you drive. We all think we are good enough drivers to text and drive, but the truth is, most people cant drive well with out their phone in their hand. Put it down. It could save your life and others.

When I was 7 years old on thanksgiving day I was hit by a car crossing the street from getting ice cream from the ice cream truck. The girl that hit me was suppose to stop behind the ice cream truck like a school bus. But of course she ignored it.. and when she hit me I flew at such a angle I luckily I hit a stop sign and I landed in a ditch.. If I didnt hit that stop sign I would have hit a solid wood power line and be dead. Luckily I suffered minor brain trauma. I cant sleep without medicine. So please put down your phone and save it for later. A text message isn't worth a life. It can wait. I promise you it can.

I had a good friend who was on his last shift before retiring, had a car stopped on the side of the highway, and the car was sideswiped by a drunk driver who drove toward the lights. My friend died shortly after impact, and two other officers on scene were seriously injured. I've also known people who were killed by texting drivers. Sending a good message here actually, telling people to stay alert when theyre driving, making sure the world is safer, they created this scenario in a video game, but its something that happens in real life, its sickening to see that whole thing role played out, and seeing how similar the situation can be to real life, i never text and drive ( my car is manual so it takes all 4 limbs to drive anyways) i know how dangerous it is just from playing forza and gta, its so difficult to drive while distracted, i would never do it in real life

Didn’t think anything about the message this video relays. 3 years of driving on my own, seeing many wrecks some fatal. Losing 2 in them. It really hits hard. The fact this is just a game, if you understand it and put the real life consequences into perspective it really hits home. Put the phone down and pull over if you have to check it. Put the drink down if you plan on driving afterwards. Pull over and sleep if you are tired. All of these scenarios are 100% avoidable. Pay attention and half of the MVA’s will disappear. Great video, as always, but as someone with LE experience, I thought I'd share my view on how to position police vehicles on traffic stops. The deputy actually did a fine job positioning his truck. Jeff had to go around the deputy's off-set truck and then swerve into the deputy. Having his vehicle angled wouldn't have helped at all. There are three ways to position your cruiser on a traffic stop: 1. In-line 2. Off-set 3. Angled. In-line should only be used if you don't have enough room to have your vehicle slightly in the lane of travel. In that case you should always approach on the passenger side. There are some pros and cons to both off-set and angled. The main benefit to using angled over off-set is that it provides better cover in the event that the stopped vehicle opens fire. The con is that because it's angled, the emergency lights aren't as visible to traffic. That's especially true when the vehicle does not have a light bar, such as the truck in this video. The con to off-set is that it doesn't provide the best cover in the event of a shooting and the pro is that it's most visible to passing traffic. The one thing that the deputy could have done better is that he shouldn't have conducted a stop in a curve. He should have either had Buggs pull forward out of the curve or had him pull further to the right in the dirt.

this GTA5 RP video started out light hearted and funny. "distracted driver" turned into IVM. in the real world, a person standing between 2 vehicles during a side swipe ends the way this video did. the inclusion of "can't feel my legs' fits with the situation. this is because the person standing between the vehicles has a motionless vehicle on one side and a moving vehicle on the other side. this torques the body and spine and may well cause further internal damage due to being smashed between the two vehicles, which follows that the person would quickly deteriorate and die rather quickly. the moral of this story. remember, you are driving 2,000+ lbs of heavy machinery and should be treated as such. pay attention, check your blind spots, use your signals and be prepared for ANY eventuality. the other options are death, maiming or prison! make your choice.

The additional sad thing is that there are people that will try to suicide (in any way) almost immediately after for genuinely accidentally killing someone. That's when it gets even more sad. Mental health also plays a roll in the after effects of something this tragic. Maybe people can live with it, maybe some will be seeing a Therapist for the rest of their lives and other will decide that they can't deal with a life in prison for something they didn't mean to do, especially if that event was involuntary Manslaughter. What would have made this episode even more poignant is if Jeff had played the role of a chronically depressed (and anxiety filled) individual who is just one "life is fucking me" moment away from deciding they're done. He did a great job portraying someone who will already be very emotionally scarred, probably for the rest of his life. The trigger here being that they finally had something great come about, like getting a brand new vehicle, only to immediately be stuck with something so traumatic that it just completely overrides that high and having some form of weapon in nearby to "deal" with it.

Had s family friend years ago that was an officer with the local SD. He was responding to a 911 where someone made a false call about someone holding purple hostage with a gun. He rear ended a flat bed semi at over 120 mph passing cars in the left turn lane after he was officially off duty to go save a family he thought was in danger. While the circumstances aren't even close, this episode brought back memories of that accident. As part of the fire department that was called out to cut him out of the car and so many of his friends and co workers in scene it was one of the hardest things we ever had to deal with. His crash was caused by his own mistakes, but officers, tow truck operators, firefighters, and construction crew die everyday like this...

Not only, to avoid the risk of being struck by a passing driver...but also to minimize the risk of the officer being ambushed..with a sudden gun to the face. Great video, and good lesson to be learned.

Great video and a hugely important message. As someone who only is only able to post this message thanks to the amazing men and women of the emergency services, who regularly go above and beyond the call of duty and risk their lives for people they have never met, after a truck drove over the top of my car, I find it astounding the risks some idiots will take: reading texts that can wait, looking for something unimportant they've dropped, drink, drugs, driving too fast to get home 10 mins early and chancing not coming home at all! I suffered a broken back, neck, femur, shattered arm, 2 punctured lungs, was in a coma.... and I'm only here because the heroes of Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Ambulance Service, Greater Glasgow & Clyde NHS, staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the surgeons who turned 'certain death' to 'never walk again', then turned 'never walk again' to 'back at work with no walking aids' in 3 months. There are serious consequences to driving 2 tons of steel without due care and attention, and a moments negligence has life changing, or life ending, possibilities. Everyone thinks 'It'll never happen to me' but it can, and it does Be safe out there, people

People don't think of the damage they can do in a vehicle and it only takes a second: changing radio stations or CDs, looking at the phone when it rings, trying to shove something in your foodhole, then suddenly life has been changed forever. Then it's about trying to find positives. For me, it was looking past my GF of 5 years dumping me, my car destroyed, giving up the sport I loved and looking to the fact I survived and I was also the first person to appear on the first episode of the second series of Scotland's Super Hospital on TV, that I got flown in a chopper and they said I was 34 instead of forty. Swings and roundabouts In all seriousness though, I'm not being glib about the severity of car accidents and I am sorry to hear about your cousin. I don't know if this helps, but the whole day from before the accident until I came out of the coma 12 days later is a blank. No recollection of the accident and, as I suffered very little damage to the head and absolutely no brain injury, I'm inclined to believe it's the body's way of protecting us. What I'm trying to say in a very long, drawn out manner is that he is unlikely to have felt anything. It seems that even those who seem to be yelling in pain but don't survive are not there mentally and are not suffering. I hope that was so for your cousin and I honestly hope it brings some comfort
