@@HarshKS2 commandline for me didn't make a big difference in fps. All I did was the aiming fix from github, don't remember the name but it fixed unprecised aiming on low dpi mouses.

@@princevegeta2958 so basically those commandlines r not some magic that would increase fps but in case of gta 4, its poorly optimized for pc, so it caps the hardware capacity to render high graphics nd fps..so what commandlines do is they reduce that cap from the game itself nd u can use ur pc hardware to its full capacity to run the game at max which wouldn't be possible wo commandlines as u simply wouldn't get the option to change graphics etc.. commandlines are text files folder which u put in game folder.. Search on yt for more info

I was so blown away by this. I remember the gta games were always insanely popular, but they looked like crap up until 4 released. The originals were 2d so its whatever. But the ps2 games were clearly far behind other games from that generation in terms of graphics. So I was absolutely amazed by how this game looked when I first popped it in the 360 and began free roaming. The physics. The way the cars would smash up. Flying out of the windshield when wrecking. People take this stuff for granted now days bc it's common. But this shit was groundbreaking back in 2008. Proof is that the game still looks so damn good all these years later.

@@alphaghost5909 then the only game you've played back in 2004 was san andreas, that is, if you've even played it. half life 2 can still compete with modern games at max settings and that game came out the same year as san andreas. thing is though is that san andreas had an amazing atmosphere that really felt like a gangster crime flick set in the early 90's (on the PS2 version/PC version with skygfx installed anyway) and it had a massive open world with loads of content

I still remember the first time back in 2008 when I first played this game. Coming from San Andreas on PS2, this was absolutly incredible, and the physics, better than in any other sandbox, even today! You can see the millions well invested in this AAA.

Gracias Rockstar Games. Fueron unos adelantados a su tiempo. Éste juego es de 2008, e impresionan todos los jodidos detalles que tiene. Admiro a todos los que estuvieron detrás de este juegazo. Éste y Red Dead Redemption 2 son mágicos. No me entra en la cabeza como pueden conseguir que un mundo se sienta tan vivo. Las físicas, los detalles, los personajes, ese ambiente tan gris y decadente, esos extraños y locos tan perturbados, la música. Joder enserio. God Of War fue un juegazo, pero nunca entenderé como RDR2 no se llevó el GOTY en su momento. Me parece muy dificil que se vuelva a repetir algo así, ni GTA VI tendrá tanto nivel de detalle, o eso creo. Espero que me tapen la boca.

Si grandes detalles GTA IV, como cuando Niko no puede meter el freno de mano cuando tiene el celular en la mano, ah no espera mágicamente mete el freno de mano. Pero hay un detalle muy particular que es que cuando corres hacia una pared Niko choca contra ella... Espera no choca contra la pared, sigue corriendo como si nada. Pero todavía está ese detalle realista de cuando le disparas a los rines de los neumáticos la bala rebota..... Espera se pincha mágicamente el neumático si le disparas al rin. ¿Sabes qué? Estoy seguro que GTA VI tendrá mejores y más detalles que GTA IV.

what is your graphics card? you can get this game to run well on modern hardware by using DXVK and some settings optimization. I have a GTX 1660 super and I can play the game with maxed out settings at 2560x1080 besides view distance which is set to 25 and detail distance which is set to 40. I also have DXVK installed which locks my FPS to 60 and it rarely drops below that

@@labelnine it's okay bro, your english is fine. have you tried downloading and installing dxvk? you just have to go here: github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/release, download the latest release, extract it and go into the x32 folder, then copy the d3d9.dll and dxgi.dll files and paste them into your GTA 4 directory where the GTAIV.exe is located. now launch the game and you should be good. I saw massive performance improvements on my old GTX 1050 because DXVK translates the game to use the vulkan graphics API instead of directx9

Rockstar should really make a better optimized patch for GTA IV for the PC. There's just an overwhelming amount of issues like texture popping, noticeable incorrect LODs, and random crashing. Many people still play the game and would like a more stable release for newer PCs

Back in 2008 when I first played this on ps3 I thought this looks ultra realistc and game graphics are never gonna be better than this

GTA IV look CRAZY good in 4K!! It's from 2008 for Christ sake! It's far better game than GTA V (unpopular opinion I know). Graphics, physics, details, city vibes, story, main character... everything is top notch in this game. IV is one of the best games I've ever played. Coming back every year to play this masterpiece again and again.
