The really cool thing about Xbox is the backwards compatibility so it will have way more players. Ps3 only had a few lobbies.

Weapons had lots of bloom so burst firing was actually necessary instead of prolonged fire

one hidden mechanic of GTA IV's shooting (at least on console) was that pulling the trigger slowly made the first shot much more accurate basically halving the reticule size, combined with crouching you could increase accuracy by a huge amount, especially with weapons like the desert eagle and carbine rifle.

I’ve just bought gta4 and now I’m returning to rdr1 after not playing it that much, and it’s so freaking fun. You can see the vision people had with the way the game is just goofy fun. It’s not like the money hungry games made nowadays with trying to be too realistic it’s not fun anymore.

11:32 I always liked how helicopters didn’t immediately explode in gta 4, unlike gta 5 where a slight bump will cause one to go boom. Also, nice yeet there.

I remember this, its better than people with insecurities on orbital cannon. Free aiming and being able to survive explosions, some of the best fun I ever had.

I spent soooo many hours on GTA IV online just bullshitting around, when GTA V launched i tried the multiplayer for like 1 week, got fed up with the endless grinding and immediately went back to GTA IV.

One thing I miss is how the police and wanted system worked. It actually made sense and rewarded you for quick thinking and good driving. Unlike in GTA5 where you could be miles from where the crime was committed without a single cop seeing you and they still send wave after wave of police cruisers up the side of Mt Chiliad looking for you.

disagreed, GTA 4's zone system felt really artificial and made no sense, it didnt matter if you were hiding in a bush or on top of a skyscraper as long as you were in the 'search zone', GTA 5's wanted system at least lets us use the map to our advantage.

Thats because V has a witness system. There are NPCs that call the police on you and you can see them taking their phones out to do it. It just doesn't alert you unlike in RDR2

GTA IV proved the concept of a Freemode multiplayer GTA experience, and while it had its fair share of flaws in the day (onset of modding, overpowered Annihilator/Buzzard, and toxicity), it also demonstrated Rockstar’s commitment (at the time) to its community which it respected. You could actually play with developers back then. A friend of mine joined a 360 party with a developer which teased the crew system, noting that Rockstar never imagined the clans and communities that had formed within their project in GTA IV. Those devs are probably long gone now, but the game’s legacy lives on.

if you had a ps3, at one point you played gta 4, battlefield 3, black ops 1 continuously. when it came to games of satisfaction, that era was PEAK supreme. way ahead of it's time. we finally feel a small portion of that era with warzone. the only game in this era that feels like its been made with love. to state that those old games were made with just love is a understatement.

This game brings back memories of getting back home from school, hopping into a free roam lobby, getting an annihilator from the airport and trolling the whole lobby until they kicked you out. Good times and very rewarding.

I’m hoping rockstar brings GTA 4 to this most recent console. I’ve always thought the stealth tactic was actually better. Being able to snipe an NPC without them knowing your position is better then missing your shot and the enemies 5 miles away managed to headshot you easily

Ya that's what kept me playing the single player for ages, there was endless fun with it. GTA5 is stiff with rag doll now, just quite boring compared IMO and your character slips and falls like a newborn, sad times still lol. Hoping GTA6 they ramp it up again that way at least like Max Payne 3 or RDR2.

Theres something about the simplicity and the overall game atmosphere that its Just perfect I used to watch hours and hours of Just TDM and Racing on gta iv

You unlocked a memory in me with that anihilator fight at the start, i used to laugh so much playing gta iv online, not like gta v is no fun, but you could actually enjoy a game with strangers here unlike in v, this vid kinda makes me wanna pay a gold subscription in my old 360 and have some nostalgia playing this

that stretch of road at 6:30 is the best section of road in any GTA game ever. so fun to just go as fast as possible in different cars, dodging traffic through all the jumps and hops. I spent sooooooooo much time back in the day just going back and forth there lol

The memories are coming back! I remember playing this years ago when I was in school, creating crews with random people and playing for hours doing random things.

man this reminds me of coming home from school back in 7th and 8th grade and hopping on gta 4 & MW3 on the xbox 360 with friends.. miss those days!

I remember building huge Skateparks at the Airport with a Mod Menu on the Ps3. At the end the whole Airport was covered with Ramps and the whole lobby riding my motorcycles i spawned for them.

"Life is complicated. I killed people, smuggled people, sold people. Perhaps here, things will be different." A true masterpiece that has never gotten a remastered. I feel like GTA 4 deserves a remaster.

those people were racing so clean... never got to experience that in gta v... the moment the race starts its a demolition derby while the first player just runs away.

I miss the simple heli fights. That took skill. Not being targeted every five secs by a MK2 or random jet flying and destroying everything.

I hope the next gta goes back to gta 4 in at least a few ways. Explosives shouldn’t instantly kill you or not effect you at all(they also should penetrate walls. Cars shouldn’t automatically flip without you needing to do anything aside from press the analog in a single direction. And the cars should feel a little more weighty and glued to the ground.

Even grinding in GTA 4 multiplayer those few coop missions was fun

I find it amazing that a game with no concept of money for buying things barely any online material except what youre given - a map, spawning cars and guns, provided, and still brings much joy to gamers for years. It's the art of socialising by just fucking around and having fun as you want fromma sandbox game. It's amazing even 15 years later and the experience online is still the same. GTA V Online didn't even last a quarter of that. Ah the kicking system. I remember one lobby we all just spammed to kick eachother, no one was killing eachother anymore, just five minutes of everyone spamming the notifications of kicking eachother. So much time spent crying from laughter.

I’m on Xbox 1 but ca. still play with cbox 360 and one day I started to play gta again but I’m an adult now I bought all the dlcs then started playing online but no one was online at all , all week then I got on at 9:30 US EST time and now the lobby is filled and I found almost everyone around 9 gta 4 Xbox 360 servers blow up with people playing in different time zones around the world to people just getting off work it’s the best feeling again never thought gta 4 would be like this again

The GTA IV physics is hilariously funny. Ragdoll in the air whether you crash a car in high speed or on bike. Swing glitch and everything in multiplayer modes is absolutely nostalgic.🌟

Gta Iv had a lot of things right. Cars felt heavy and had a sense of inertia. Guns felt more potent. Explosions weren't instant death if it didnt hit close. Rpg was inaccurate and slow velocity with limited ammo. No chicken dancing snipers either. And the swingset of death was amazing.

It's amazing how much people still play this game

I was the lobby creator all the time on ps3. Free roam, full traffic and cops. Turn blips off , radar off, chat only proximity. Was awesome
