Great driving Adrian! Quick question, is there a reason why you shift into 5th gear earlier for T5 and T6? I noticed that you don't get it up to redline or shifting earlier at about 1k RPM less than when you upshift on 2nd and 3rd gear.

Hey Hariz.. Good question indeed I was taught (and experienced myself) that if you hit redline before or close to exiting the corner (T6 in this case), then you need to upshift early so you don't gelabah to upshift at exit Because of the higher gear, lower noise.. You feel "slower" so as a driver you actually hold the throttle more.. In reality you end up going faster in the higher gear 🤓🤓

@@adrlo Great explanation! That is actually pretty helpful and makes a lot of sense. I've only tracked a manual car at Sepang once (the rest of the time being an automatic car) and yes, shifting mid-corner is pretty risky. The accidental jerk of the steering wheel while shifting with one hand, the sudden change of momentum as we press the clutch in. I'll keep your advice in mind for my next track day (finally owned my very own manual car a few months ago)!
