The A.I. cannot be changed beyond just making them harder, but not in the way were they're more intelligent and act like real drivers. More like the rubber-banding can be adjusted. 2. I'll mention the car modelling issues some people have on the server, but I should tell you that they're already aware of them. The models are frequently worked on and improved. 3. I initially said that playing this mod on official hardware is possible, but with how many things have changed; I'm not fully sure it is now. I will say that perhaps the simulation mode disc will still work on actual PS1, PS2, & PS3 consoles. (Yeah, PS2 & 3 are both backwards compatible with PS1 games). 4. For new events, I don't know how many more can be added as that's heavily limited by the game itself. 5. New tracks can't be added yet as noone has figured out how add new track models in the game yet. 6. To note when giving criticism towards the car models, please keep in mind that making them to the same standard as a Polyphony Digital quality model is no easy task and the modellers are trying their best. There are limits to what you can do in regards to car modelling for GT2 and they really are giving it their all. 7. Remember to check out the discord server in the description so you can discuss with the modders as I don't have all of the answers. 8. Please watch til the end and read my notes before asking questions along with watching the 1st 2 parts.

@@LowMeef I think GT3 C-Spec was canceled. The mod creator went on to focus on this mod instead.

I'm completely speechless. GT2's modding community has advanced quickly. I hope that means later games may one day have custom content like this. I remain hopeful.

I believe Nenkai proved recently that custom models in GT3 is possible, so we'll definitely have custom content on the ps2 games at some point.

Imagine if there is "Nijigasaki High School Idol Club ULTIMATE ALL STAR CHAMPIONSHIP" Special Event in GT2 PROJECT A SPEC MOD. In that championship, the opponents are all cars that are used by Nijigasaki characters like: Shioriko Mifune's Mazda 767B, Ayumu Uehara's Atlantique 600LM, Ayumu Uehara's Sintura S99 GT1, Setsuna Yuki's Saleen SR WIDEBODY, Setsuna Yuki (Coco Hayashi)'s Nimrod C2, Ai Miyashita's BMW V12 LMR, Karin Asaka's Lotus Elise GT1, and Yuu Takasaki's McLaren F1 GTR.

Well in the late 2010s there was only one GT2, now in 2023 almost 25 years after its release we now have 4 games... base GT2, GT2+, Epic Turismo and A-Spec, thats nuts! (plus Submaniac started his own project called GT2.1 which completely redesigned whole career mode, but lack of time is harsh)

Gran Turismo 2 in 2024 is now 25 years old.

I think that they could use black lines a little less on the cars, when trying to draw separating lines for the bonnets and other parts. It makes them look like cartoon cars. A better way to solve this is by using lines that are of the same color of the body, but darker. Its a way more subtle treatment.

I like the BMW 840ci LM Edition both before and after. Before looks like a civilian model which is what Eazy-E had.

I did too, the original design had a stealthy look about it that I liked. Though the After version with it's BMW M1 Procar inspired appearance is pretty cool too.

Z06 won't be in, as they won't be adding anything made after 1999. C5 coupe, convertible and hardtop would be eligible, as would the first-year C5-R (with the black-and-silver Goodwrench livery).

Definitely gotta give this a try. The last GT2 mod I tried was the GT2plus.

Y'know how the daytime and nighttime models for cars are stored as separate entities within the data of GT2? I think it'd be cool for convertible street cars, like the Prowler, Spyder and MR-S, if the daytime model featured the roof down, and the nighttime model featured the roof up. Also if Monte Carlo ever gets finished that'd be the PERFECT track for one of the Renault Spyder races to take place on!

As a longtime diehard fan of Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, i am absolutely speechless to see how amazing GRAN TURISMO 2 PROJECT A SPEC MOD is already, especially with Alfa Romeo Schigrella, ALTA SILVIA GT300, Sintura S99 GT1 (Ayumu Uehara's 2nd Favourite car in GRAN TURISMO 2), and the R33GTR CONCEPT now included in the game!

What are all these race cars really useful for? GT2 has very few events (besides manufacturer) ones for race cars. To me it seems like a more useful thing to have in a big mod would be normal cars for the early/mid game, especially from non-Japanese manufacturers--used Fox body Mustangs, E30 320i/325i, Mk2 GTI, Omni GLH, Cavalier Z24, Fiat X1/9, Pontiac Fiero (and Pontiacs in general), '90s Impala SS, first-gen Taurus SHO, Peugeot 205 GTI, real Porsches (944, 964, 993, 996, Boxster), C5 Corvettes, and a major slashing of prices for North and West City cars to make them reflect domestic market prices instead of the inflated import prices. It would be truly awesome for the US and European manufacturers to be competitive with the Japanese ones from the start and have a fuller range of cars.

Imagine a way to comission the developers and ask to add a specific car or you own car, like here the pictures and details of my car, here a chunk of cash, hit me up when is done

Since GT drivers are basically time travellers anyways, maybe adding modern cars and VGT cars could be a fun idea.

The Vector M12 LM got revamped as the GT2 for realism, to my knowledge; there was never a Vector M12 competing in the GT1 class tier and only GT2. WIth that said, I think you might be mistaken by thinking the M12 LM was a GT1 class car in Gran Turismo 2; it was still a GT2 car. Just with inaccurate specs like a lot of cars in GT2 like the GT500 JGTC Cars for instance. If you're confused on why it's racing against the the Toyota GT-ONE and Nissan R390 then, the races those cars were in were never focused on one racing class. They are a mesh of different racing classes, there were DTM cars in the race as an example.

Looks impressive how modders can mod a console exclusive game to add new vehicles. I wish something like that could do with PS2 games.

Komputer here, the director of the mod. I can see that adding obscure stuff is a thing not everybody wants, but you see, there is one key thing with this mod: We want to be different. And the car choices perfectly reflect that. If we didn't take this direction, we would add the things that everybody says has to be in the mod. But with A-Spec, we decided that it's better to shine light on cars that are/were generally overlooked by racing game developers. I can understand the criticism however, not everyone would like to search about a car with barely any information on them. But that is what A-Spec is for.

Hello friend, the video has been cool, however there are some cars missing such as the Toyota Esso Tiger Supra or FK Massimo Supra, the BMW M3 of the GT300 or the RX-7 of the GT300, among others, and I have a couple more questions 1- About the Super Taikyi, do you know what their names are and the year they were manufactured? I am referring to the Skyline RM. 2- If more cars are added in the future, will you make a video?

I'm missing some cars? I think someone didn't watch my previous tour video like I recommended. 😉 Seriously though, I made it clear that I was only talking about cars added or updated since the previous build I showed off. Gotta pay attention at 0:23 and 43:46. Also, I linked my previous A-Spec videos at the end of the video and in the description. I don't know the Super Taikyu cars exactly off the top of my head, but a quick google search would fix that. Also yes, I will probably make yet another video in the future when this mod gets updated again. Which might be the release build next time as I think the mod is close to being ready for release.

Will other unused cars from the final Versions and demo versions be added? For example, the Escort 1.8 GTI, Pagani Zonda, HKS Celica, AMG C55, Rex Supercharger VX, F355GT, Beetle 1.9

Hey, if you don't mind, i have a few things to point out (since I guess a bit of pinpoints wouldn't hurt, sometimes you get blind when youre working on the same shit over and over and over): -The actual Chaser Super Sillouhette looks more like its been based upon the 20 series or 10 series soarer (looking at the roofline), maybe look into that? (I'm editing this comment for everything i find) -The Camaro LM Race Car only has a slight issue, the headlight buckets are not closed off on the sides, you can see through the fender, might wanna close that bit -The overall panel-cut-lines look kinda funky, maybe go without them? or try to add some slight highlights rather than pixelated black lines, maybe try to stick to how the base game was in that regard -Glad to see the e30 m3 making its way into the game, hope this model gets a revamp though

IIRC the in-game prices were based off of the actual prices of the cars in Japan at that time.

@@RareMusicSpam Oh those, they do look a bit low. I don't think it was intentional, the modeller has just been having issues with certain cars. Modelling cars to work on a PS1 game isn't as easy as it looks just to note.

I have multiple PlayStation Memory Cards with multiple GT2 saves and I reached the Garage limit which is 100 each on some of them. Has the garage limit been increased as well so I don't have to create another save on another Memory Card to buy and win more cars?

How strange is the fact that I like GT2 better than GT3 to GT7? Even if it's not realistic as the most modern Forza or Gran Turismo games, It has something in the gameplay, graphics, menus, that make me feel much more entertained. But I actually don't know anything about this mod. Threre's already a version for us to test it? It will be an ISO file to play on emulators? It will run on real hardware?

I think it'll be released as an iso file to play on emulators, but you should be able to play it on hardware. The mod is simply not released yet.

Once this is released to the public would you be willing to put together a tutorial on how to mod game ISO for emulators? I tried modding GT2 already with GT2 Plus and it was a nightmare I couldn’t figure out. Couldn’t find any tuts on KZread either so I ended up giving up

The differences are cosmetic, it's still the same car; it just now has a more accurate livery to one of the Castrol Supras that raced in 1996. If you're asking the difference between the #36 and #37 Castrol Supras, there's likely not many significant differences other than maybe how they're tuned in real life.

For Toyota, it was a gameshark cheat code I used to allow me to view the M3 in the Toyota Dealership in place of another car. This is a longtime cheat players can use to access cars without having to win them. I use this often to showcase colors available for used cars or prize cars. As I said in the video, the RX-7 logo is just a placeholder logo used when cars don't have one made. When the mod is eventually released, it'll actually have a M3 logo.

I think you're confused, I said the 840ci lm was inspired by the m1 procar. Anyway, can't say I heard the actual m1 being planned.

It's in the game, it's a racing modification for the Taurus Stock Car. Race Cars in GT2 A-Spec now can sometimes have racing modifications like the Jomo R390 in the video for instance is a RM for the R390 GT1 Race Car 1998.

Did it get fixed that the e39 528i only has 142hp? I think they messed up with hp / kW back in the day

I think you might still be able to play it on actual hardware, but only with the simulation mode disc.

Komputer here. The HP increase was done to match the specs of the real Diablo (mostly match)

how many polys could it handle per car?

For car models, I think there's around 500-1,000 polys, but not fully sure about that number. I learned for making a new model for this game, the limit is 256 verts. Making the model good takes a lot of time optimizing it.
