Great video, love your channel. Been using this cockpit for a few months with a T300. I have the V2.5 wheel base and V3 pedals coming on Monday. This gives me a lot of confidence in what I’ll have (which is a good set up - even my modest set up has cost nearly £2000!).

Great video! I've had my GT Omega Pro for a couple of years now and it is still doing good with my T500, TH8RS and Heusinkveld Pro pedals. I am looking to go to Direct Drive sometime in the near future. You can add an extra set of side support barsand also ask for a better metal bar that connects the front to the back for better security if you contact GT Omega directly.

I have the original version of this rig.I put a book just under the front part of the rig and it takes out a lot of the flex from braking. the front of the rig is curved so doesnt sit perfectly flat and rolls under pressure forward and that pushes up where the join to the back part is. I also replaced all the bolt things with grub screws where I could, helps get a tighter connection and saves you bashing ankles and knees off them too!

I have had this cockpit with the same Fanatec set up for around 3 years. The shifter mount and keyboard tray are completely useless long term. Keyboard tray probably being the worst. GT Omega released a platform about two years ago that bolts under the seat. This new platform gives you a better designed shifter mount option as well as an option to mount a much better designed keyboard tray. Plus there’s mounting options for a flight stick between your legs. However, they’ve never released the actual flight stick mounts.. I ended up buying two extra shifter mounts and mounting my Saitek X52 Pro HOTAS with them. It’s not the best solution but it does work. I’ve also mounted a Buttkicker Mini Concert to this platform. It doesn’t transfer the vibration through the seat very well but along with the other two I have mounted to the cockpit it does the job. All and all this rig is pretty sturdy. It perfect for anyone just getting into sim racing. If you look up JayzTwoCents You Tube channel he has an older video where he talks about GT Omega Products. In the description of that video there’s a promo code for GT Omega products. I used it three years ago when I got the rig as well as every time I purchased an accessory from them. It worked about 6 months ago so I’m sure it’s still there.

While talking about these budget cockpits that flex in the middle section, suggest going to Home Depot/Lowes and have them cut a 3/4 board that will fit under the cockpit. Then, mount the cockpit with brackets to hold the entire unit to the board. Flex be gone! With my rigs, this always made a huge improvement.

Depends on the Wheelbase you are using. A DD Wheelbase at high torque levels will have very noticable flex no doubt. You can see the amount of flex I get in the "Driving" Segment of the video starting at 16:03 using the V 2.5 Fanatec Wheelbase. If you are running that, or something that has the same or less torque, you should be ok I think.

I am tall (1.93cm) not perhaps as tall as you and this cockpit is in the smallest i feel. I need the extensions for the wheel. I also need the Fanatec v3 the furthest back as i can. My chair do not get any further back as it is and i need to recline it as well. However i found a good seating position, but it is at max position. I also have a fanatec clubsport v2.5 and it is "shorter" then my thrustmaster ts-pc which gave me som headache on how to adjust my rig to suit my length. I am currently looking for a new setup. Today i would have gone with something else. Something more flexible and rigid, something that let me adjust pedal deck back and forward and seat position and wheel position. Although this rig as suited me for almost 4 years so its been good. Another thing, the triple stand they have let's you only adjust 27" some 30 degrees. However it is free standing and do it's work. Not easy to setup correctly. One reason i got this setup was the price i paid for rig and monitor stand.

I think you are much too diplomatic in your verdict. While, as you show, one can race with that kind of „rig“, they are just not customizable, not very stable and crazily overpriced. For 500$ (plus whatever you need for a seat) you can already get a super sturdy, industrial level 80/20 aluminum rig (well, not from Sim Lab, but they always charge double of what’s right, there are a lot of small builders out there that have decent offers...) that will last for generations and has a pretty high value retention. To charge 450$ for THIS is absurd! They don’t even provide the right holes for Fanatec, and in my book that shows that those products are aimed at players (rather than racers) having the cheaper Logitech or Thrustmaster wheels. I think it’s lucky that this „rig“ fits your size, but since you can’t change angles and heights anywhere chances are that’s not going to be true for a larger group of people. So their seating position is not going to be optimal and therefore their times. If these things were priced at 200-250$ I‘d be ok and say you get what you pay for. But 450$ to me is outrageous.

Alot of people buy these and I never got why, they are the same price as a 8020 rig.I think mostly becuase of stupid 'lets players' and streamers who tend to have shitty gear even tho they get paid to race.

I've looked into 8020 rigs for myself, and I've never been even close to $450 with a seat. The price of the extrusion itself is one thing, it's the cost of all the hardware, fasteners, brackets etc that can add up surprisingly quickly, and then you have the seat on top of that. Might not be too far off in price if you use the really thin section 8020, but a major selling point of going for an 8020 rig is rigidity.

@@WhippyWhipGaming Yeah I have the simlab tr1, basically same thing, its only 500 in black + seat so you could do it for 700, depending what kind of seat you want. I dont understand people who buy shit like this haha.

I have this rig... Comes with extension pieces for taller people... Also got the R6 red chair with mine because I had read that the R9 black seat is too snug for larger people... I also got their "pro mounting plate" that can be mounted under the seat... Much sturdier placement for a shifter and you can mount a handbrake...
