    I purchased a used Firefly, and it would only fire one round and would not eject. I contacted American Tactical, who is the North American distributor. They told me to ship them the gun. They replaced the barrel, extractor, guide rod and spring, for free. The Firefly has a lifetime warranty. It runs great. You have to use CCI Mini Mags or similar good ammo.

    I just purchased a old school Sig Mosquito sport, and it runs perfect,as long as you use High velocity ammo. Will fire and eject standard ammo, but if you want it to feed,stick with High velocity,as recommended from GSG.

    To be honest, I'd go back to the standard magazine follower and see how it functions. But on almost every .22LR I have, throwing a suppressor on such a firearm does 3 things: it makes the firearm get dirtier far quicker; it's much quieter; and well, it almost always makes it run better, despite being dirtier. The last is because there is increased backpressure helps it cycle better. But the ammo I would choose for testing would likely be CCI Standard Velocity, which is my "standard".. If that does not work, so good CCI mini-mags.. if neither is worth a darn, I'd find a place to get rid of the firearm; don't need an unreliable firearm. I'd either sell it or give it away. And yes, I have given away a couple.. The most unreliable, I'd sell back to where I bought it ; let it be their problem again. I hate decockers as well. I feel safer just clearing the firearm; I don't trust safeties either; while I will use it if it's there, we all know that it's mechanical in nature, and thus can give one a false sense of security. The best safety you have is between one's ears.

    I bought one of these several years ago after GSG stopped making the sig. I believe it was the mosquito. It came with 2 recoil springs. 1 light spring for no suppressor and 1 heavy for suppressor. It also came with 2 mags. 1 black sig mag and 1 raw GSG mag.

    I have one and need to use high quality amo, otherwise it will either stove pipe or not feed. I changed the spring, which helped a little I also used a spray lubricant on the magazine after loading the magazine and had better results.

    I had the GSG MP5 knockoff a few years back. Very similar issues. It would eject the round load the next one but not recock the hammer. It would nose dive and fail to feed alot. After messing with it for a few months i sold it a friend and let him take over the headache He did some more work, it still doesn't run

    I have always been a revolver guy. I purchased the firefly about a year ago. I have never taken it apart. while shooting it for the first time I noticed that the mag would come loose. I rarely shoot this gun, however now I have the mag falling out after I fire it. I have also noticed that I can pull on the mag and it will come out without hit hitting the release button. Any suggestions on how to fit this ? ( and yes, I have tried other mags. )

    I picked up one of these new at a gun show a few years back, paid about $250 for it I believe... 🤔 I rly enjoy it. I was looking for a cheap semi plinker in 22 and it def serves it's purpose, very fun little pistol. Yeah, it's no high quality piece, but it feels like it's made quality enough. Mine is very reliable too, I've put thousands of bulk through it over the years. Accurate , fun little gun and it runs great. So I can't complain 👍 I hate that you got a lemon man. Hopefully you can get something figured out and it'll start feeding better for you. Great video, thanks for sharing.

    I don't know if the pistol is any different from years ago, but a friend of mine had one, and it was nothing but a jam-o-matic. I have the TX-22 and although the rear sight leaves little to be desired, it has run flawless with any ammo I have run through it. 22 rf semi autos can just be hit or miss sometimes.

    It seems most are not reliable. I heard the new ones come with 2 recoil spring assemblies, i wonder if this helps. I want one just because it reminds me of my 226. I might be lucky and get one that works. I have several 22 pistols that are ammo picky. One a Ruger,Walther, Bersa. It sucks that some just like certain ammo brands

    I have a gsg and it has never once jammed on me not even when it was new. it has been very reliable and alot of fun to shoot. I do not own a supressor so maybe that is what is causing your issue? I have seen suppresors cause a issue with gun malfunction when I was at the range but admittedly I know nothing about them.

    The Mauser M20 (GSG Firefly and Sig Mosquito) is one of the trio that are basically the same gun. Magazines and other parts are interchangeable. The biggest difference was who was marketing the gun at the time as to which name it had on it. It does need the high velocity rounds to reliably cycle (1200 feet per second or above). It doesn't like cheap rounds.

    I’m looking to buy another pistol, I have a Taurus Gx4 9mm pistol. I also have a mossberg 590 for home protection. Is a .22 good enough for personal protection? Or should I be looking into a higher caliber pistol? Can anyone point me in the right direction? My budget is up to $350

  • @deuceandguns

    @deuceandguns

    5 ай бұрын

    I would not consider a 22 pistol good for personal protection. I'd stick with 9mm and if you're looking for something smaller than the Taurus to carry maybe look at the Ruger security 9 compact or S&W Shield. The bare minimum size and caliber I'd recommend is the Ruger lcp but it's underpowered with the 380acp cartridge and it's tiny making it much harder to shoot accurately.

    My CZ 52 decocker was 100% I used it and carried it "Cocked and Locked" alot as my Truck/Car gun.... Until I had the Trigger return spring replaced... After that it failed twice ... one time unexpected. I decocked it after a party I had went to and I was very "tipsy" fixing to sleep in my car in a pasture . I pointed it safely to decock and make safe... BANG... VERY EMBARRASING but everyone else was asleep Once to check again to make sure I hadn't hit trigger by accident when 100% sober ... BANG I DO trust my Beretta 92X decocker though. It actually rotates the firing pin out of reach

    Basing your trust in decockers on the p38 is a bit disingenuous. Not all decockers are created equal. The Beretta 92 decocker is incredibly safe. The firing pin is held in place with a block that can only move up and out of the way with the trigger pull. The firing pin is also a 2 piece pin with the aft section built into the shaft of the decocker. So when you use the decocker the pin is rotated to the vertical and the dropping hammer can't hit it.
