There is NOTHING wrong with being single. Date yourself, find out things you like, what you don’t, what you want out of life, things you need, boundaries that you want put in place. When the time is right you will find the person you are meant to be with. Trust me, happily married to the man of my dreams because I was PATIENT and trusted that things would fall into place. about relationships... im 21 never actually dated and still a virgin. i guess im still emotionally immature when it comes to all of this world. for the past three years i've been dealing with trying to become an adult, being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and still coming to terms with being queer and all the compulsory heterossexuality. during these three years ive struggled with this social need of start a romantic and sexual life, drink alchool, party hard, but most of my experience with this have hurt me so right now Im just so glad with trying to be in peace with myself... relationships scary me a little but theyre less terrifying than ive felt before. i dont want to go and be with someone but carrying all this fear and doubt, only to hurt them and myself. i rather wait a lifetime than doing things that make uncomfortable just because i feel like it's what people my age should be doing

Idk why I feel like commenting but I want to say your candor is really commendable and you aren't alone in a lot of those parts of your life, I think people just find it hard to openly talk about their LACK of experiences. Everything happens in its own time you are going to be just fine.

You can get all your experience without participating in the harmful parts. Like you can date without having s3x, and you can go to events and parties without drinking & drugs. Yes people will pressure you - people will pressure you for s3x and people will pressure you to drink with them. But that's their problem not yours. And that teaches you who respects your choices and who doesn't. And that's the biggest experience you will have - standing by your own choices even in the midst of pressure from others. Everytime I stand by my choice I feel better about myself, and any time I did something I didn't really want to do it made me feel worse. It's not always noticeable but when I pay attention to my self esteem and my self confidence I notice that gets impacted by it.

I totally relate to what you’re saying it’s so much better to meet someone naturally and organically. Online dating has this expectation from the get go and it can put pressure or make it feel forced.

Guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurl finally someone else who doesn't like online dating like- Meeting someone in person has so much more appeal imo- I don't have to put up still pictures of myself and describe my entire personality in like 50 characters or less. I can actually see the person in front of me and get a better idea of who they may be before we even talk and that mystery is there for a little bit since there isn't a bio attached to them.

I’ve been single for 6 months. Not one date. My fiancé left me and I’m just not ready to get back out there. I need at least a year. It is “boring” but I’m with you on wanting to meet someone where it’s not forced like online. Men don’t approach as much because of societal rules and boundaries which are actually nice. Though I feel like men definitely are out here flirting with coworkers while they’ve got wives and gfs at home! And nobody from online actually wants a relationship. They’re lying to you. The ugly duckling in HS and post graduation glow up is so real. Especially as a trans girl who started transitioning halfway through junior year, I’m a freshman in college now and girl I’m LIVING
