Perfectly lovely! You look like Mary Poppins. I have questions: would a woman who had such finery and surroundings been upper or middle class? Would she have had a maid assisting her? Would she have dressed differently for dinner, and if so what kind of ensemble? Thanks doll, that was the perfect amount of loveliness I needed to end this day!

A middle class home then would have a maybe a general maid & a cook. Upper class : butler, housekeeper, cook, kitchen maids , house maids & ladies maid ( to help with dressing & grooming).

She would certainly have dressed for dinner. A woman of this class would probably change to an afternoon gown after this morning gown, then change later into a dinner gown. This would have a lower neckline and a different fabric, probably silk and with more jewellery.

I'm not usually a fan of the hats but I LOVE this one! Thanks for sharing your wonderful creations with us.

Alice was just a little girl, so would be dressed in the much simpler childrens clothing of the time. :) Her older sister who was with her in the beginning and end of the book would definitely be dressed like this. The earliest books of Alice have time accurate clothes in the drawings. I believe Alice had long ruffly pantaloons showing beneath her simple dress. Her sister was drawn in clothes like this video, I think. I will have to find my copies of the books again to see for sure. Lovely clothes in that time!

Actually, the outer gown and petticoats were not washed frequently. Most of the time is spot cleaning. Shifts & drawers were washed frequently though.

This would be perfect for a cosplay as Alice's older sister (sadly unnamed, but must have been lovely, as Alice falls asleep with her head in her sister's lap).

It's beautiful but it also looks exhausting. If you were upper class, you probably did this at least two or three times a day. Did they have to change under garments as well, for dinner or an evening out?

The dress looks fabulous but ive been wondering, how do you store all the pieces of clothing

When things become this elaborate you have to ask what it means. I’d liken this to skincare or makeup today, influencers & makeup videos. They use 19 layers of creams or 45 components - concealers, contours, colors.

Really lovely and fun video. I loved watching all the layers go on, especially the bustle. I hadn't seen the understructure for a bustle before. And you look wonderful all put together! Question: Isn't Alice about 12 years old? At what age did girls/young women start wearing corsets, bustles and other under structures?

Did you study fashion? You are really good! The clothes you wear and their compatibility with the environment you are in are great! I think you are a person of those times. You literally took me back to the past. By the way, do you always sew in this style?
