Danessa Myricks doesn’t miss. She does live makeup tutorials on her IG page with her team every Tuesday showing how to use her products. The blurring balm powder is meant to be a foundation to use alone OR it can be used as a base for a liquid foundation. It’s supposed to dry down to a powder like finish. The upsalite in it is meant to keep you from getting oily throughout the day but you can still set it with a powder if you prefer. I use it all the time! I love it on days where I don’t want a heavy full coverage beat. Definitely a holy grail. If you get the groundwork palette I recommend watching her use it bc the textures are unique.

You and I are foundation twins and I wear shade 8. It will not require concealer, powder, primer....nothing. and it lasts all day. It looks better and better as the day goes on.

I use the blurring balm powder alone. It's great for a quick work routine, and it lasts me all day.

Girl I am a Balm Powder STAN! So glad you’re loving it and the shade is spot on for you! I don’t have to set the Balm Powder with powder, but sometimes I will if I want an even more blurred effect on the skin.

Love this balm by Danessa Myricks so friggin much! Like it’s legit one of my holy grails.

Please try the new Mac Studio radiance serum powered foundation. It made me believe in MAC again

In the colder months I don’t set with powder but use a primer. In the Summer, yes set with a powder. I have oily skin. U should try the Universal shade to use for the rest of ur foundations. It’s 😍😍😍

I read comments here that the color undertones may not match some people, Andrea and I are foundation twins for the most part but undertones and formulations are tricky. Having written all that, I'm purchasing the universal shade and then waiting to see what powder I may need this summer. I've been getting away with little to no makeup for most of my adult life but I also read that the DM blurring powder helps with laugh line coverage. That's what really sold me because I was this close to buying the Milk Makeup Pore Eclipse products (black packaging) and/or Glow Recipe Strawberry BHA blurring drops. Did you buy anything?

I use it as a foundation at times; during the summer heat I'll put on a lil Sephora Microsmooth powder, but during this season it's good on its own. Love how effortlessly beautiful the end result turned out!

Yes that brush has been sold out since the first day of the sale. Maybe before. Not sure what you use in the winter for dry legs arms etc. but maybe try the body shop’s olive or avocado body butter. Works so good!!!! Black Friday they are half off.

I was just reminding another influencer about the Body Shop butters and oils. Also try out Origins Soufflés, (not creams) Ginger is my fav and I use the scrub as well.

I love the balm powder. I have the tinited and universal one. I set it lightly with a powder during the summer but let it be when it’s cold outside but I’m in Chicago with my combo skin. And number 8 is warmer than 8.5.

I love the DM Blurring Balm 😍😍😍 i use it alone & under foundation & paired with concealer. I also do set it with powder! Just because I’m oily! But it does help with oil control! 😍

I loveee this product so much. I wear it both ways by itself or with all my products. I will top it with Sephora microsmooth powder when I do a full face and it pairs really well.

Hiiiii beautiful first let me say I am so happy you are trying out 8.5 because I have 8 and it was not a real good match it was to something lol. I was using it as a foundation but I did go in with my other products like my concealer and I did set it with a light layer of setting powder because I was afraid it would move through out the day. I loved the way it made my skin feel and it helped control my oils. To me it felt like it didn’t dry down and like set set if that makes sense. I love the way it looks on you. I am like so excited to get 8.5. Oh I also got the universal shade to use as a primer and it did help blur my pores. But one thing I tried that was a EPIC FAILURE was Danessa said you can set your foundation with it and honey honey honey that was a complete mess my foundation moved and shifted…….gurl I had to wash my face. When I watched Danessa use it in her tutorials she did not set it.

That is a great shade on you. I do set mine and use a concealer because I have dark circles under my eyes. I am still getting use to it.

I have the universal shade in the blurring balm and mainly use it on the oiler parts of my skin. In summer I use powder over it but now it is getting colder I will not need any powder but I have combination skin. Definitely a repurchase but as much as you get it will take a while to use it all.

That is definitely your shade. They still have the buddies duo in stores. I got it mostly for the universal balm powder shade to use as a primer even though I sometimes use the tinted one as a primer as well. Glad you finally tried it and liked it.

Ohh and if you haven’t try it yet the cream fenty blushes are so so good!!!

I too am obsessed with this product, the texture is amazing! I do use it as a foundation, sometimes i set it with my Dior setting powder, 15:40 but I don't need to. Oof, I didn't notice a smell.

So pretty! I don’t set the balm with powder. I use it like a skin tint/ powder foundation. This is holy grail status for me!

You can just put it on and go because I have done that. Al I put on was some eyeliner in my bottom waterline and some lip gloss but I did set it with the Sephora pressed powder in toffee

I set mine with the NARS setting powder or Charlotte Tilbury

I love my Merit serum!💕 I just ordered my 2nd bottle. I tone, use my other serums by The Ordinary (argireline on my forehead and maytrixl on the rest of my face), eye cream, Merit serum, then sunscreen(day)/moisturizer(night).

First off, that Merit serum is everything. I’m on my 2nd bottle. My skin is dry and I always put it on under my primer so my makeup doesn’t cake up (on quick days it’s a primer by itself). Also, the Danessa Myricks product is amazing! If you apply it right, it looks so flawless even on dry skin.

@@jacquelinedaniels87 so funny enough I use that serum she uses under my foundation and it helps immensely. I also make sure I moisturize well. Then I use a veryyyy small amount. I think that’s the key for dry skin. I apply with a brush then smooth with a damp beauty sponge. I dont powder the face..just where I put concealer on top.

Girl... I SWEARRRR by the blurring balm! I can't believe this is your first time trying it! I can't do my makeup without it! If you have her Skin Tint, try pairing it with the blurring balm. Chef's kiss! When I wear it, I literally use it in place of a foundation. So I still apply concealer, bronzer, blush, setting powder, etc... basically my full face but just use the blurring balm instead of foundation.

you can do anything you want with it! you can go over it with a powder, a liquid, a cream, and it wont move. It can be your primer and foundation in one or either or. if you get a darker shade it can be your contour/bronzer. You know Danessa, it can be used as whatever you want it to be used for. You can even do your underpainting and then use the balm!

Yeah I got 7, 8 was to red and they didn’t have 8.5 have to go try it!

Thanks for reviewing this. As the product was released, I knew 8 or 9 wouldn’t work. I was glad they released 8.5 but I only saw one other review and still wasn’t sure.

You can get a lighter and darker balm for other places on face and I don’t powder

Girl yes you are late to the game, I wear mines as a foundation as well. I don’t have to set it , only powders that I put on my face is my bronzer and blush. It’s the best, it has taken the place of all of my other foundations.

I did some damage at Sephora!!! Though I didn’t realize I was rouge status so at least I got a better discount than I was anticipating… I bought a Saie blush, the refy red lip/blush set (totally was influenced from TikTok to buy it), a tarte maracuja lip balm pen, two charlotte tilbury single eyeshadows, a liquid eyeshadow from the Sephora collection, a lip stain lipstick from the Sephora collection, a couple of eye patches from the Sephora collection, a couple of eyeshadow brushes from the Sephora collection, and a lip liner from the Sephora collection 😅 I really wanted the Danessa myricks eyeshadow palette but I don’t think I would use it enough to justify the price. Maybe if they decide to do Black Friday deals this year…

Odd how this balm worked so well for you and it gave an instant greasy shine. I’m tzone oily and sure this had a lot to do with it. I also went back to see the shade I purchased and it is the same that you have here. And your face looks flawless and very pretty. EDIT: I’d love to see you with a ponytail, your hair is so cute here and I’ve not ever seen it this way and I instantly had this thought to myself.

Girl I wanted that Sephora no. 64 brush since about June and I waited and waited for the Sephora sale because why get it for full price when I can get it for 30% off and it seems like as soon as the sale started it was sold out. I mean I logged in EARLY that morning on the first day of the sale and it was sold out and it is still sold out as of yesterday. I am so angry because like why would they not have a decent inventory for the sale?? Ugh!! I feel like that was intentional and they know if they restock now it'll look a way.

I want to try the Danessa Myrick yummy skin tint, but it’s hard to find a Sephora in metro Atlanta that has enough shades to color match…I tried to guess my shade online and it was a FAIL 😂

@@nykia26 UPDATE-I’m shade 13 (12 will work in a pinch) and I got the primer too!! The Sephora I went to had a Danessa Myrick rep in store and she helped me color match and beat my face and she gave me free samples of eyeshadow and blush!! I LOVE it and felt like I didn’t have anything on!

I’ve been using this a a primer it’s too good. I need to buy another one.

That is the perfect shade for you ….. it just disappeared into your skin. It’s like your skin but better , I have it and I really like it. I watched Danessa do a full face using different shades of it. She used it as a primer (universal shade), a foundation, contour/bronzer and as an under-eye highlighter. I even saw her set the yummy skin foundation with it. That definitely did not work for me. Guuuurlllll I had to wash my face and start over. 😂😂😂😂
