Fundado en Colombia en 1979 por Jairo Varela y Alexis Lozano, Grupo Niche ha gozado de gran popularidad en toda América Latina y los Estados Unidos. Se han convertido en uno de los intérpretes más importantes de la salsa. Grupo Niche encontró su primer éxito en 1981 con el álbum Querer es Poder y su sencillo “Buenaventura y Caney.” El grupo se mudó a Cali, Colombia en 1982, donde residen desde entonces. En 1984 lanzaron el exitoso sencillo “Cali Pachanguero,” un homenaje a la “capital mundial de la salsa.”
Entre sus discos más conocidos se encuentran No Hay Quinto Malo, Triunfo y Tapando el Hueco, todos los cuales obtuvieron certificaciones de oro. Sus mayores éxitos incluyen “Hagamos Lo Que Diga Corazón,” “Nuestro Sueño,” “Canoa Rancha” y “Cali Pachanguero.”
