Growth and Tastes of Concentration, Sensory Clarity and Equanimity ~ Shinzen Young

Shinzen talks about the triple attentional skill set of concentration, sensory clarity, and equanimity, paradoxical experiences that can happen when there's a critical mass of all three, their short-term and long-term growth, and attempts to describe the "taste" of each component.
00:20 - Paradoxical Experiences
01:40 - Long-term CC&E Growth - The hockey-stick curve & local fluctuations
02:30 - Concentration Example - The in-the-zone taste that is sensorially fulfilling.
03:20 - Equanimity Example 1 - A knowing that because of the open way you are experiencing this moment that every moment of your future will be more fulfilling, involve less suffering.
Equanimity Example 2 - Some part of you knows that you are releasing holdings from the past in how you are currently experiencing the present.
04:00 - Sensory Clarity Example 1 - The unmixing flavor. Feel, image, and talk arise without tangling with each other and the self-as-thing evaporates.
06:24 - Sensory Clarity Example 2 - Detecting subtle sensory flavors that usually drive human perception and behavior. Sensory subconscious events become perceptible so you are not hijacked by them during the day.
08:40 - Sensory Clarity Example 3 - Speed of detection - We can start on a dime and immediately detect sensory experience anytime, any place. Shinzen demonstrates.

For me concetration has a slight sour "taste" to it. Atleast that's how I taste it, have no idea if it's like that for other people.
