That dude did a hit and run! He was driving knowing he was undocumented! He would have been in trouble had he gotten pulled over too! What he did to Anna was way worst! What if she had gotten hurt? He would have still drove off! Decisions have consequences and you have to live with that despite your circumstances

The question becomes what does she believe his punishment should be for hitting her? If it’s jail time then turn him in. If u want to see him do community service or something talk to him one on one and work something out 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Long and short of it his immigration status shouldn’t matter he broke the law he needs to pay. To many liberals wanna give criminals a break it needs to stop. This was so dumb, he did a hit and run he should of been dealt with the consequences. He knew he was undocumented and still drove with a suspended license and an uninsured car and ran a red light after doing a hit and run. Actions have consequences, now he’s free to probably do worse just because he’s undocumented doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be punished. My cousin died last year because of a hit and run so this episode pissed me off.

I am totally against putting people in the system unnecessarily. Prison is graduate school for criminals. I'd want to be sure people who are sent there are there because there is no other way to protect society from them. This kid is far from lost - at least as described.

True. Here, there was a comedy sketch at nights, and one of them was an ad about "criminal education". The funny thing is they said "made your posgrades around the world, from new york to paris". Just goes to show how the justice system isn't about providing justice to the victims. Ana doesn't want to deport the kid, but of course what she wants doesn't actually matter even though she is the one that was hurt. I wished our justice system actually centered victims and what they actually need when they have been harmed. That should be the main takeaway from this conversation

Unpopular opinion: The system targets minorities and undocumented people, and is extremely flawed.... But I actually agree with Javi. Imagine if this happens again, this time it's an 8 year old on a regular scooter and dies. My issue with the message is that it insinuates that certain convictions should trump the good of public safety, and I definitely wouldn't want someone to get deported because I dropped the dime on em, but I'd also feel a lot worse if I saw the same face in the news a few months later facing manslaughter rather than a hit and run.

Well people I’ll tell ya what on one side my family has been here before the mayflower as someone pointed out and on the other my grandfather is from Portugal and guess what he came here legally !! I know that offends you liberal types someone following the law !! I so I am in a unique position to speak on this topic crossing our borders is a crime simple as that to many people have died at the hands of these criminals ( yes I said criminals) because some are coyotes drug dealers drug mules criminals trying to evade a crime they’ve done there and compounding the crimes by coming here and hey they may even be some poor sap who just wants a better life who gets behind the wheel of a car drunk and kills someone point is if they hadn’t came here an American citizen would still be alive. Forgiving a small infraction more often then not leads to a larger one down the road. Remember that popular saying give em an inch they’ll take a mile where do you think it came from wake up. Removal is the least that needs to happen. And hell yes if I found em breaking the law I’d report them and be grateful they were found and removed it’s not heartless our wrong to want your family to be safe from criminals

Report him...shouldn't be driving if he's undocumented for exactly these types of situations. There's no responsibility on his end for any wrongdoing in any type of situation requiring paperwork to be filed. Which is how the system works.

Listen, lost both parents in one day in one moment because of an unlicensed, undocumented driver. It was his 3rd issue with driving violations until he eventually drove drunk and killed people. Law is the law. A hit and run can kill people. Busses, taxi's, Uber, lyft, bikes, skateboards tons of options to get around. If you already broke the law to be in the country you shouldn't be openly breaking more and more. If he's 17 he shouldn't be deported for what I assume we're his parents crimes. People brought as children shouldn't be allowed to be deported. That's not who broke the law.

Find 3-4 guys find the guy and get your payback in blood. This way you both have committed a crime and he won't tell for obvious reasons and call it even.
