Yup! That, and, “What are the lyrics? I guess we have no way of knowing, unless we buy the CD, and the lyrics are printed on the inside.” I was ALWAYS SO annoyed when the cheaper out, at there were NO lyrics!! 😂
I feel like I grew up in the last generation who was given junk food without concern for our well being. No one cared of there was a healthy snack at the soccer game. Also, it is impossible to overstate what a phenomenon Bop-It was when it came out. It was the one toy you would not get in trouble for bringing to school. Our entire class would sit in a circle and play it in pass mode.

I was a teenager in the 90s. It was the best time for movies, music and TV shows in my opinion. People weren't political and so sensitive back then. I myself was obsessed with NSYNC, Britney and Paris Hilton at that time. I wore Maybelline and Cover Girl makeup. I watched TGIF every Friday night on TV. I remember winning NSYNC concert tickets from my local grocery store. It was the best moment of my life back then. I have so many wonderful memories of those times. I still listen to all 90s music.

Same, born in 2002 and got nearly everything although there were some regional differences (I'm Aussie). And some small differences, like for us it was Windows XP forever because my parents never updated the PC, but at school we got to use Windows 7 (still my favourite to this day, can't beat those sound affects). Instead of collecting Polly Pockets though there was a computer game where you were Polly and would drive around her suburb to pick up all her friends for a party, Polly Pocket salon game, Hide and Seek with Polly Pocket, does any other 2000s kid remember those games because they were the good shit?? Dunkeroos are still my bitch, those snacks with the strange cheese are still on grocery shelves to this day, we all had them growing up.

I'm a 2000s/2010s kid, but I can relate to a lot of these experiences.
I didn't get every US specific reference but as a 90's kid from Europe this was really on point. My first computer had an even older operating system, it was Windows 95 or even Windows 3.1, I can't remember. Good old days. The C-cassettes you recorded from the radio were epic, you just didn't want the radio host to talk over the intro too much :D And it was polite to rewind the VHS after watching a Disney movie.

I loved your take on the LATE 90s (crap, that stupidly makes me feel too old even if there's not much of an age difference). For reference, I was 16 in 1995 (F). To me, I think you missed things like flannel shirts, Doc Martens, Manic Panic hair dye, shopping at Hot Topic, Delia's NY clothes catalog (that's for girls tho), Larry King Live on CNN, Spice Girls, riot grrrls (early 90s), 120 Minutes on MTV, TRL Live, "snap into a Slim Jim!," brightly colored vehicles, various magazines that don't exist anymore, Beastie Boys, extremely baggy jeans, skater culture, The Real World, unisex perfumes, order through mail catalogue, My So-Called Life, "dial-up" Internet, prank calls and no caller ID, Reality Bites, glitter, glowsticks, raves... I could go on. Ugh, now I realize I'm not giving you any criticism -- it was the last great decade with a lot in it. It hasn't been the same since. I frickin' miss the 90s so much.

You guys nailed it!! I'm trying to think what you could've left out but you hit on everything from snap bracelets, skip-its (I think I owned at least three lol) to putting a blank tape in the radio and waiting to record your favorite song when it came on the radio!! That was a solid one guys. So much nostalgia.
The door opening sound of AIM threw me back so hard 🤣👏🏻 All the IM names with the numbers and the away message hahaha Other things I remember from being a teen: Those AIM little cartoon people. Forwarding chain emails including those ones that you answer a million questions about yourself and some people were vague but obviously wanted their peer group to know they’d kissed someone in the rain, sending prank emails on Valentine’s Day that would be all mushy then have a terrifying witch face and scream at the end. Plus1 and PHAT Chance, Zoe Girl. Disney Channels “Verb! It’s what you do!” and the genie saying “Great minds think alike right!? WRONG! M” then he’d launch into a history lesson. Trampolines without nets. Girls wearing boys board shorts over their swimsuits for modesty since girls board shorts weren’t readily available yet. Seatbelt belt buckles and purses. Hot Topic. Passing notes that were origami folded meticulously into different shapes (and folded money rings). Skater shoes. Bell bottoms. Spaghetti straps. Slicked back hair with two hairs in front hanging down loose. Spikes hair on boys. Free chocolate at Sees and Sees suckers. Bringing Starbucks to youth group on Sunday morning and sipping it so slow it would get cold but it was worth getting to keep holding the cup. Dickies purses and jackets. Left Behind books. Broom ball. NOTW gear and clothes.
Born March 91, these were all accurate and laughable! 😂🤣
