Great video! Funny story, I'm sitting here relaxing looking at palm trees and wanted to know more about them. Found you video and read all the comments and realised that you guys are from BC. I'm from Comox on my yearly trip to California and Vegas. Once I'm back I will contact you and get more info to grow my own palm tree. Thanks.

love your videos. I have a question about palm seeds. You had mentioned removing the grape of the seed. Is it important to remove the fleshy part of the seed and place in water for a couple of days? I live in south florida and I would love to sprout seeds from some of the palms down here.

Great video! I'm in Montreal, there's a guy here who grows all sorts of different palms outdoors with protective covering for winter. I was wondering, if I were to start it indoors and once it has a bit of height, would I be able to put it outdoors in the summer in sunlight? Also, what kind of light would this windmill need indoors?

The windmill palms grow at zone 6. Just wanting to fixed that. You can leave the out all year around when they are sprouting out in zone 7. But if you live in zone 6 you might want to wait a few years when the hairs around to palm grows a littler more.

Greetings from Laredo Texas! I have Palm tree seeds that I just collected from my neighbors house. I was wondering if they were seeds, so I googled and came across your video. I will definitely try planting these indoors, our weather here is brutal, it reaches 110 degrees on some days, lol. So indoor planting it is. Thank you for all the wonderful tips, Blessings always!

Hi Brad, i have successfully germinated some windmill palm seeds in a dark cool part of our house. Now that they are an inch or two high (they look like blades of grass) where should I move them to? Should i keep them indoors but have them exposed to sun? At what point could i plant them outdoors? Cheers, thanks

I am going to try and grow them. I am so excited, wow I had no idea they took so long to fruit lol. We will see how it goes. Thanks Janice

When you have a pot full of newly sprouted palms and it's time to transplant to individual pots, how do you normally do this? Do you try to pull each palm out with a bit of the soil its currently in, or do you gently pluck each palm from that soul, exposing the root, and replant in a new pot? I have about 50 newly sprouted cabbage palms grown from seeds I planted here in NE Florida. They are about two to three inches tall now and time to plant in their own pots.

I soak the seeds for a few days then squeeze in my hand to get the meat/flesh off. Then i put in a bucket of water and grind them on each other and the rubbing action rubs the rest off. I have a video of this if you want to check it out. Good Luck!
