Growing and Picking Asparagus // Magnolia Street Garden

Asparagus is not for the faint of heart. Growing asparagus is a passion of love for growing. We have an asparagus bed and it has taken us 4 years to be able to pick a few stalks of asparagus. We are continuing getting it ready for next year were we can get a bounty of asparagus. Do you have any tips that you would like to share on asparagus?

I have some asparagus that's bolted. Can I save the seeds and sprinkle them among my current asparagus plants? And thanks for explaining how to harvest it!!

Sounds like a fun idea and a fine idea. There are many great article on using asparagus seed to plant a patch of asparagus on the Internet. Some of what I read mentioned starting the seed inside. Here is what the almanac mentions about growing from seed. www.almanac.com/news/gardening/gardening-advice/planting-asparagus-seed Happy planting! 🙂
