Grover, still the man in 2023!
This is the essence of the early 70's. If you didn't live it this is a taste.
Today, Tuesday December 17, 2019, marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of saxophonist, composer, producer and bandleader Grover Washington Jr. His wonderful music is ours to enjoy for eternity. His legacy is enduring and undeniable. Grover Forever!!!!

The only sad thing about the thumbs up icon is that you can't hit it multiple times. I remember the exact time and place I was on Dec 17, 1999, when I heard of the passing of Grover Washington Jr, on the radio. Sad day for me😢. My most favourite jazz artist and saxophonist. Washington described his music as "short stories without words". Beautiful musical words ❤️

Oh yeah... He is bad... Been listening to Grover since 1974. Seen him several times in concert. Just as good live as in the studio. Maybe better.. Michael Brecker loved him. God bless him. I was so sad when he passed.

*Jazz Quiz:* What does _"Trouble Man"_ by *Grover Washington, Jr.,* _"Don't Mess With Mister T."_ by *Stanley Turrentine* and _"I Want You"_ by *Gato Barbieri* all have in common? *Answer:* All three feature *Eric Gale* as _Lead Guitarist._
The one and only Grover Washington Jr! First time I heard him play was October 1971. I had to ask someone near by who this artist was. I was attending a CTI jazz festival in Chicago at the civic opera house. Grover Washington Jr keeps sounding better and better every year that I keep listening to him. I think Grover played everything perfect, he was truly a virtuosity saxophonist, and a musical genius. I can't get enough of Grover! Wow! Thank you so much for posting this!
Thanks aquarianrealm ! As per usual you post the utmost in classic jams!
