I think what's even more amazing is he's the kind of person he is even after having the sheltered childhood he had. One where his parents were people who stole the few dollars their son had in order to pay bills and he had few friends who cared enough to share in his interests.

@@PyraXadon Definitely! It's easy to use that as a legitimate reason to be careful about who he spends money for but no. He's still the kind, generous man that he is. Honestly, the thought process he puts behind all his gifts means more than the gifts themselves.

I am super jealous that you have friends you can hang out with multiple days in a row, sleeping over at your house, and just having a lot of fun together. I never do stuff with friends to that extent lol. The thing we definitely use our Alexa for the most is to add things to shopping lists. You just say “Alexa, add mayo to the shopping list” and you’re good. Extremely helpful.

Phase 10 is my family’s favorite card game!!! We play it at every family get together. Funny story to come from that (that shows how bad my luck is): i was literally stuck on phase 1 for like 7 hands. I was getting so frustrated and so i went to the kitchen to get a drink while they dealt the next hand. Came back, picked up my cards and the phase was finally there. I was so excited and was like yes finally!!! And then my cousin who was sitting next me me says “um, you actually picked up my cards...” Idk if it’s possible to rage quit a card game but i did that day XD

First Something positive: Your dad's getting really good with his art. Dang, he's getting good. I want to see him keep getting better. With that out of the way, can we talk about Phase 10? I reeeeeeally hate that game. GOD, it infuriates me. Most of my family likes it and enjoys it, but it just makes me mad very quickly. If you get behind in that game, there's no point of playing after a while. People can get 5 phases ahead of you, and you know you will not win. This problem isn't alleviated by more players either. While there's a higher chance the person ahead is going to get set by the other players, this also increases your odds of getting set too. This game has very little skill to it and is pretty much random chance that benefits the other players more than it will you. Plus, if there's some layer of skill to this game, then there's a massive first hump you gotta get over if someone you're playing with is really good at the game. Overall, I rather play Skip-bo if I want a card game with chance, because there's more skill in than game that Phase 10.
