I think this is some sort of attempt to have those in the celebrity community come forward and say "we're just like you!" Which, of course is true and it isn't. Because yes, you and I have the same mental struggles, but we are not the same, in that you have the benefit of unfettered access to the best health care, and we have to fight an uphill battle between insurance providers, hospitals, healthcare providers and drug companies, just to get to a level of care still far below the one those in the celebrity realm will ever see.

I would say, mental health is a big part of what made them drop out of regular life and do comedy. I did standup for 18 months, only bombed once, and couldn't take it because of how unhealthy my peers were and how much listening to them for multiple hours a week was affecting my own mental health! (I was in a good place when I started comedy but I could feel myself deteriorating.) So in while they might not BE like the rest of us, they WERE like the rest of us, so we should at least acknowledge that. The other thing famous comedians have access to in larger amounts than us is street drugs which is why so many of them die early. 😕
