Remember the 850 Wagon?
I love the old Group A race cars and the Volvo was a beautiful thing
My grandparents had a Volvo they thought was the safest car on the market. We were all astonished to see it up the front of the races on a Sunday afternoon on the tv.
I saw this car for the first time at Lakeside raceway. The crowds general perception was that it was the best sounding car on the track.
Man what a beauty that car is.
Earliest memory as a kid was JB in that Volvo
I LOVE THE LONGITUDINAL ENGINE VOLVOS!
What a machine!! I love everything about it 👌🏼
John and mark it is great to see 606, 44 back in Australia and back in the Nordic War Stripes .. Thor Rustad did a superb job on the restoration ... JB... VMS had engine management on the 1985 VMS Eggenberger ETCC 240Ts and the 1986 VMS Ras Sport 240RXTs all the way through the two years (ETCC 1985 and 1986 ETCC) you did get such a car till the former VMS Ras T car got shipped over and then this car got EMS courtesy of Bjorn Schuller and Franky Millquist when they came over John Amundsen formerly VMS Europe
bowe is the man
Funnily enough, the rear brake locking he mentions is because the brakes were hooked up wrong for over 30 years. They had been connected backwards. I believe shortly after this video was made, it was discovered and the rears stopped locking.
Alf Constanzo is the most unknown driver in Australia, he won so many Gold Star (I think it was) Championships. He dominated open wheelers in Australia in the late 80's.
A few extra ports on that CIS ;-)
Great video!👍 one note, the engine is not a 2ltr, but 2.127 cc, called B21 ET. The last versions produced up to 375 hp, (RAS Sport engines)

Bikerman 690 also the gear knob has first left and up whilst he is showing left and down. He said normal h pattern but did it in reverse? Maybe the gear knob is for the stock gb

@@dopelvergasser900 yes I think so...
You could put JB in a pedal car and he'd still be competitive. Great driver. 👍
This car is fun to drive in raceroom
It's so shiny inside & out, who restored this car?
hope it's got the standard Volvo made steel rear trailing arms, not the light weight Eggenberger made aluminium ones that failed at Bathurst, John?
