Noice vid + new sub

I'm thinking of starting a new game plus but bc I play on switch I'm nervous it might just crash

i don't think you need to change to custom , once you start NG+ you should be able to use handy gnat. with the new update 1.4

So, it's confirmed that you get the handy gnat after going into ng+1? Do I need to get anything else done before this?
