I 100% recommend plugging it. You need the infected wolf spider to 100% the game, bur weeds don't spawn unless you plug it (best flooring in the game), and the extra inventory slot you gain from not having to carry a gas mask makes it so worth it.

@@seethrew you don't have to get the gold card they removed that but yeah you do have to scan it
I didn't know infected wolf spiders drop 5 fangs! That's helpful to know! Thanks for making it easy for us!
I don't plug it until near the end game, and only so I can get the Infected Wolf Spider scan. I haven't ever bothered with it until after the last battle before heading back to the machine. The spawns in that area don't get any better or worse due to doing it. It just makes visibility a little better, but all the enemies glow making them easy to spot even in the haze. It doesn't need to be gone to collect anything down there and nothing new spawns in the haze area that I'm aware of if you do. Decent armor with a gas mask is plenty of protection for the haze area, and infected bugs are a pain to deal with due to most of them having ranged attacks or the ability to cause explosions. Not difficult, just annoying. If you're strong enough to collect fangs, the three around the oak tree are easy enough to farm and are easily cheesed if necessary. There's a spot they can't reach inside their den on top of some rocks in a crevice in the wall. Two spawn in the den, and the third is easily lured inside. I can't think of any reason you really need 5 fangs. Single fang drops are enough to repair stuff that needs them, and by the time 5 would be useful, you're probably using glue to fix things anyway. There isn't really a good reason to do it until end game if you're going for 100%, or just want a little bit more challenge because you think the game has gotten too easy. A gas mask is easily obtained and easily repaired. Lvl 5 is plenty of protection for the few areas you should be using it. It isn't a timed item and will last for infinite time if you keep it repaired. In fact, I kind of think that a gas mask should have filters that work for a limited amount of time, as it provides a reason to disable the haze for exploring that area. As is, there's no good reason until you want that unique spawn for a complete peep list and to farm for the one gold card you can't get until you do.

Holy Smokes! Now thats a good read! I beleive the only reason to get the fangs is for the craftable 5 to 7 upgrades, Need 15 bar to go from 5 to 7 which is equal to 30 whetstones. That is if you run out of minable tier 2 mat's. Currently im trying to level as many weapons as possible so i can have the perfect weapon for every fight! lol just cause ima huge nerd :D. Thank you again for this awesome lengthy comment, you sir are totally awesome!

@dggdvg It was nerfed. It's a 90% resistance now, not immunity. If you have the fresh defense mutation, it reduces it further, but you still take small amounts of damage, but it stacks fast as well. The gas mask is also easier to get. You need to build some underwater gear to get to the badge, where as all you need is a shovel and a workbench for the gasmask. Plus, if you upgrade the gasmask to lvl 6, you can get explosion protection, which is particularly relevant in the haze. It's also useful to have a tuft in your trinket slot for the haze. It makes navigating the area a little easier due to all the canyons. Not only for dropping down into them, but also to help cross some of them.
Awesome video came in super handy today

I love this so much ❤️ thank you very much, you made my night!
the issue for me if I decide to plug the cannister is that infected ladybugs are so destructive they can have stems, planks, and chunks drop, so if I or another person don't kill them every so often we minus one friend would suffer performance issues
Keep the content coming
I would say no in my opinion because there will be infected bugs everywhere around the map but that's just me.
There is another infected wolf spider spawn right underneath the shed nearest to the undershed entrance
I just started playing, so In creative mode nothing attacks you first?
Keep the game azz content coming!
Do normal wolf spiders still spawn?
so when i need spider fangs for Tire 2 weapons i should hunt infected wolf spiders?... what tire weapon do u suggest for such a plan

Peblet spears, and no I'm not kidding, make 10 of em and throw em!
I haven't really found any reason to plug the haze. I don't have an issue dealing with it having a gas mask and badge. Why spread it out all over the place instead of leaving it right where it is? I just don't see any point to it. I mean if there is some achievement for some part of it I would honestly plug it go for that and then reload my game.

There is a achievement kinda, the 100% achievement requires the infected wolf spider gold card.

@@seethrew Realistically, almost no person is going to be able to 100% this game. There is an insane amount of hidden items that must be collected for that. There are in fact 2800 achievements in the game. So I wouldn't plug the haze for the achievements. As for peeping an infected wolf spider, just plug it and peep one and then reload the save.

What? Why do you think that? The game's audio logs literally explain that the haze is the only thing stopping the infection from spreading. It was unleashed when the disease began to spread.
The only added content for plugging the weed killer cannister are the Infected Wolf Spider and the Spiky Burs. Because both are clearly endgame content I don't recommend plugging the cannister until you are at endgame and have unlocked pretty much everything else. You can get all the Milk Molars, Mega Milk Molars, Candies, Upgrade Rocks and other content in the Haze simply by wearing a Gas Mask and Upgraded Tier 2 armor and weapons (which I did with the Haze still up). While it may seem like a better yield of Spider Fangs for the Infected Wolf Spider, if players don't have a good set of Tier 3 Armor and Weapons or flawless perfect parrying skills, it is as probable as not that you'll end up dead trying to fight an Infected Wolf Spider. It has over 75% more health, does over 86% more damage per attack, has an unblockable 3 combo explosive attack, a faster 5 combination attack and a ranged explosive attack. Even if you can kill it, you could kill the regular Wolf Spiders far quicker and far easier and get 1-3 fangs from them if you place a Stuffed Wolf Spider in the area and rub it for increased loot drops. Place one near the Oak Tree and one on the Wooden Plank to farm a total of 7 Wolf Spiders for 7 to 21 fangs in a day. There is plenty of stuff in the game to do ahead of plugging the cannister (pretty much the entire rest of the game) so why make your life harder just for a stronger floor, some furniture and some turret ammo? Among other things, I would recommend farming the fungus at the Haze Lab until you get the Fungal Charm trinket, which provides 76% damage resistance to the unblockable explosive attacks that most Infected bugs have. I'd also like to point out that spiky burs can be duplicated at the Oak Lab and while, like everything, it costs a lot of science points, by that time you should have several tens of thousands of science points to spare.
