My birthday is Christmas Eve and I love it! My entire life every person I told would respond with, “I’m sorry,” or “wow, that must suck!” Honestly it doesn’t, but I think it depends on your mindset. My dads family has celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve long before I was around and they didn’t change that when I was born so I see everyone opening gifts on my birthday, but all of my family is obligated to watch me open the first gift and I milk that time. I never really got birthday parties because everyone was either out of town, busy with their own family or couldn’t afford another gift. My mom tried celebrating on my half birthday, but it really wasn’t the same. Growing up my family worked hard to make the day special, my aunts and uncles would take me out to lunch or go ice skating before all the festivities. As an adult I now just give myself a Birthday Week from Christmas Eve until New Years Eve. It’s mostly a joke, but it gets me out of a lot of things, I just say, “No sorry can’t do that, I’m celebrating my birthday week.” I hope your daughter grows up to love her birthday like I still do!

To the guy who asked about when you tell your kids,you don't! Let them believe as long as possible. Convince them. I have a 14 yr old who hasn't since age 9. My 8 yr stopped believing last year,right before Christmas and I couldn't convince her 💔 and my almost 6 year old is starting to question. Matt Walsh once said something about if they don't start at least questioning by grade 1 then you should be concerned,but Matt has the same qualifications as me...none..aside from being a parent...and I say...as long as they aren't going into middle school,you/they should be fine... I was 9 when I stopped believing and that was only because my brother showed me the stash in our mom's closet....

Birthdays that are close to Xmas DO indeed SUCK!! At least when you’re a kid. Adults don’t really matter 🙃 Mine is Jan 3rd… everyone is broke, tired, and completely over the holidays by the time my bday rolls around. Everyone who has a bday that is at least 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after Xmas has probably had to deal with getting bday/Xmas gifts (at least from family members) at the same time the majority of their lives. I blessed 2 of my children with December bdays as well. Dec 4th and 15th. But I go out of my way to make sure we do bday stuff separately from Xmas.

My niece learned Santa wasn't factual when she was 12. I don't think her mom could bear to take away the fantasy from her lol. I used to call my ex up and tell her it was Santa when she was misbehaving and he'd sell the whole Santa spiel lol (my ex & I are quite amicable). Ah, that was fun.

I was like 9 or 10… I was being nosey and snooping in my mom’s jewelry box and found all my damn baby teeth. I had pretty bad ADHD as a kid (moderately as an adult) and would question EVERYTHING already.. b to find those teeth, I asked my mother so many questions, so fast that she didn’t even have time to come up with an excuse. After 2 minutes and 30 questions later, she finally just yelled “BECAUSE THEYRE NOT REAL!!!!! IIIITTTSSS MMMMEEEE!!” Needless to say, I continued the questions and she just walked out of the room. 😂😂😂 My oldest 2 children’s father is against “lying the children” so they learned when they were old enough to understand what holidays even were. I think 5 or 6 maybe. But my youngest daughter (who has a different father) believed until she was 8. Kids at school told her… they’re all teens now but I still lay out their stuff on Xmas eve
