She is not that bad and she introduces the dog, Gretchen has a name and this lady uses it. This is the first grooming video where I got to know the dog’s name an important part of being human is calling the pup by is name like you would any customer. Thank you for the great video on how to groom while growing out a yorkie’s hair.

So funny, my new little 5lb Yorkie pants every time he is a little stressed and I have found out it is a common trait to Yorkies. Thanks a million for this video, you just saved me $70 on a clip and groom that I am going to spend on a portable grooming table and noose instead so I can groom my little sweetie myself. He is such a good little guy and only 9mo old so I figure over the course of his life it will save me big bucks and help us to bond all that much more not to mention it is always better to do your own grooming as it is much less stressful on your beloved pooch. I have always groomed my pets myself but my Yorkie is my first long haired dog and human like hair to boot, so I wasnt too comfortable attempting it myself until I saw this video, now I know I can handle it. It is mainly the "butt" area I am needing to do bad because every time he poos the poor little guy gets dingleberries in his long hair. He has a near show quality coat in length and feel so I really want to make sure to keep it as nice and kept as possible. Thanks again for the video!

Mines only 1 1/4 pound. And has a full long silky coat the touches the floor. She is only 10 months old. Both her parents are under two pounds and show quality. But my baby is a emotional support dog for me and does a great job. Smart is an understatement. So enjoy them and don't stress the small stuff.

She does not seen to be very confident groomer. She is nervous and that is why the doggie is so restless. She can't be a professional groomer. She is too fussy and her dog handling skills should be improved. I groom my own three yorkies and other yorkies and mine trust me but with new yorkies it is a struggle sometimes and it takes time and determination. Why her clipper is so LOUD? She's not too bad.

I just cut Rexie's tangles out. I would never try to comb them out due to discomfort. I think all the grooming is stressful for pups and ultimately stress taxes their immune systems. Rexie's vets say he is their most spoiled dog.

This is why the groomers usually NEVER let the client stay while they groom a dog; if we wait and be gentle and don't move the dog to the position needed...you wouldn't get your dog done in the 1-2hrs you expect it to get done. Other people's pets wouldn't get done either because the Groomer would spend it's time honey, sugar and baby-ing your dog just to not hurt it's feelings to shave it's ear!

I've worked for & seen many a groomer who had said & done more than just tell a dog to sit still. You drop your dog off and ASSUME they are well behaved. You ASSUME, the groomer didn't have a hard time. The Groomer usually never tells the owner because they wouldn't want to offend you. This lady never yelled @ this dog, in fact she stated many reasons why the dog wasn't cooperating. Unless you sit and watch the grooming from beginning to end...you don't know what happens!

I don't generally comment negatively on videos but this one drove me crazy with anger and sadness. You can tell she is a mellow dog so if she isn't doing what you ask that means she's uncomfortable. You say several times in the video that she's hot and it's hot outside. Why not give her some water or not do the video outside in the heat. Videos don't have to be done in one take. That's why they have programs to edit. I have a Yorkie also and groom her myself but let her have breaks.

Seems it's always "warm" out and that makes the dogs not want to be still. It also makes them "pant" yet this woman is always in long sleeves...Nothing wrong with the dog, it's the groomer, a groomer I wouldn't trust my dog to.

summer43211 At least try to connect the dots. The dog is covered in hair. Long, heavy, thick hair. Yeah, it's going to be warm. Yorkies pant when they are or stressed or hot. She is probably both considering that she's got tons of hair and she's getting a haircut.

The reason your yorkie is not staying still, she is not trained. She is NOT by any means show quality and just because you bought her from Germany on full rights.. does not mean she is show quality. I had bred and shown yorkies for 16 yrs and can tell when a yorkie is not socialized and likely just a breeding dog. There is no such thing as teacups! Breeders like yourself label them teacups to make a huge profit off the unfortunate and people who lack education in dogs. Also as a retired groomer. This is really not a good demonstration. . Your dog is panting excessively and you are ignoring her . She is either overheated or so nervous because she isn’t handled much

You better take a look at the new standards. Teacup is a term for dogs smaller the her. I have one and even my vet called her a TEACUP. So don't be so high and mighty on that horse. Look it up first, its called Google.
