Is it grog being stupid, or grog being smart. Grog is a big dude and it would take more alcohol so he may only be drunk for days, pike is tiny and would need less and may be drunk for weeks.

love that part, it's one of the times where grog has a pretty intelligent response to something cause he does understand that a lot of full blood giants only care about themselves and have superiority complexes as big as they are

Not everything is a trap, breaks down the door. It’s a trap. Grog is my all time favorite from the show

The "what cause we all fu*king know each other" lost for breath

Grog is a type of character which usually annoys the living daylights out of me. Stupid people funny har har. Big strong man is an idiot yada yada. It's _usually_ a very cheap form of humor and gets very old very quickly. Somehow, though, the way Travis plays Grog (and the others respond/the show is written, speaking of LOVM specifically) makes it work, at least 90% of the time (for me personally). There is SO much heart, and the jokes are never truly mean-spirited. And if someone IS actually mean to Grog, if anything bad happens to him, we are clearly meant to immediately sympathize - and we do. It doesn't feel like laughing at a disability; it feels like laughing at somebody who has a very different worldview and often misinterprets things (which is inherently funny! speaking as someone with autism) and is also clearly an admirable, lovable, flawed person. He's an archetype AND a fully realized character. Honestly, it's a little bit magic.

Likely because the 'big strong man is stupid' stereotype is a written character, and Grog is a played character. He has genuine and creative reactions rather than typical predictable reactions.

My favourite line by far is: “You got a baby in dat ting?”

It is funny when he does understand the joke and he's smart enough to comprehend what's going on and even pokes a little fun

The way he found the secret behind the painting just made me laugh my butt off

tbf, they are in private chambers and any male touching the portal will be slandered as a pervert in the noble Kingdom of Emon So in theory, placing the portal in plain sight works smart since EVERYONE in the party stepped away from it, including Pike; who detected every item in the room to have magical properties

Yeah. One of the moments that didn't make it into the show was that moment from the Kraghammer arc when he headbutted a giant with a Natural 20 when he drank an entire cask of ale in front of Grog. You don't mess with Grog's ale. You. Just. Don't.

The best Grog scene did not make this cut "Percy, I say you go up to the Briarwoods, say "hello", and punch them in the face. See what happens." The delivery is so serious, and the others' reactions make it comic gold. Furthermore, the fact that their at a royal function makes it comic platinum!

Yeah, the people at Titmouse were super excited for his beard until they were told that Grog hadn't grown it yet during the Briarwood arc.

By himself is an absolute treat, but his connection to Pike & Scanlan makes every scene better

I will never not love that of all the characters we've seen before subjected to mind control magic, Grog is the most resistant. He pushed through Silas' efforts when Vax and Cass required snapping out of it, and despite not knowing it was a possibility he was the only one to even temporarily fight Anders' control.

5:35 was a great laugh

My favorite moment is when Pike went, "Let's just say I know who I am now." Then Grog responds, "Well duh, you're my best friend, except now you glow in the dark!" It's such a wholesome moment and I legit squealed with joy.

See this is why barbarian will always be my go-to class, so I can say awesome shit like this and get away with it.
