they should just convert all the mama shops to sεx booths. charge by the hour or better yet per 10 minutes, sure can survive one.
My family lives in tier-3 city and we buy 90% if groceries from local kirana stores. But when I was in Bangalore i used to buy 90% of items from online store as it was hassle free and can avoid traffic.
Symbiosis (between Online & kirana stores) is the key in metros and tier-1 cities. The digitalization in India is mind-boggling, specially wrt the UPI platform. Even the smallest shop, say a cobbler or street-side vendor, has a QR code through which payment can be made even for the lowest denomination of currency. The kirana stores have become tech savvy everywhere, and play a crucial role in tier-2 & tier-3 cities as well as in towns and villages.
In Singapore, only the foreigners are still running this small grocery stores selling products from their motherland.
