Albertson's is expensive. Always has been.

The trick with Albertsons is their app deals are really good. My mom buys groceries for our household of 6 and can get a full cart for under $150 easily with the app, it gives her $100+ discounts

Stater Bros or Walmart would’ve 100% been much cheaper
I saw you pick out that stuff and thought no way she’s not going way over budget. Things like frozen waffles are not cheap, either are those big tubs of yogurt.

She should've grabbed generic, and pancake mix
I don't even know why you got a buggy... I was asking you that 😂 You said "$20 left" and headed into Albertsons.... you shoulda known that's a two item transaction 😂
Albertsons is a Kroger company, they have enough stores they set their prices at whatever they want. Trader joes is cheaper for whole foods and pantry staples, Walmart is good for name brand snacks.
I shop 2 stores, sometimes up to 4 stores just for budget or dietary restriction reasons. Aldi for basics, whole foods, target, and various ethnic grocers for specialty items. I switch it up between asian, mexican, and indian grocery stores.
Same here...shop on the street, in Hmart, stew leonard stop and shop costco and aldis. The trick is to stock a pantry with sale items. Then fill in as needed.

THIS! Why does your comment not have a thousand likes? Stocking up when my staples go on deep sale is the only way
As soon as she started picking I knew for a FACT that there was no way it was under 20 lmao
Im simply american but love love love food from different cuisines so Im always shopping at different stores. Also for my american groceries you seriously gotta check and compare prices. I buy my meat and often produce from sprouts bc its literally the same price and its organic then i get my pricessed foods from united
I haven’t seen an Albertsons since I was a kid I thought they was out of business, good to know there still out here 😊
Same American and Asian and Moroccan hhhh
I basic do the same, Costco one week, asian/korean market the other
I feel like Safeway has better deals with your club card then you get an Albertsons or Lucky (which are essentially the same store). I also like Grocery Outlet. I tend to spend a lot there but I still feel it’s a very good value!
My local supermarkets have Asian groceries so I rarely go to the Asian market unless I know the prices are better there or I need a restock on more specialized items
Albertsons is really expensive. However, they have deals on their meats, seafood, water, and pre prepared food. I suggest getting those if you go
As a child my family always cooked food from different places and now to get the food that I crave it’s a 30 minute drive to the nearest international food market. But I agree with everyone that it is so worth it to buy the food you love from the culture you’re a part of
I'm also an Asian American, so I know this very well and the one thing that drives me crazy is rice. Quick rice, instant rice, or even basmati rice when they don't even have jasmine! Why do people think I want quick rice? I'm an Asian American! Trash rice is only useful for times when you need rituals or throw rice at a wedding!
I’ve found that going to aldi and not buying name brand has saved me a ton. Aldi was closed on Easter this year so I had to shop at Kroger and I spent $100 (as much store brand as i could get) on a haul that normally costs me $60-70 at aldi. Even if an Aldi is a little out of the way I think the savings far out weighs the cost of gas for an extra 30 minutes of driving. Totally understand if you don’t have one near you though!
as an american white girl, I too go to asian or mexican grocery stores as well. i love authentic food so I get authentic ingredients
all of the basic girls hating on her new style in the comments is killing me 😭
Maybe try buying store brand stuff. Everything you bought was name brand which is usually at least a couple dollars more. I didn’t think it would make a difference but it really does.
Albertsons is expensive … I never shop there 🥲
If you live near a WinCo I definitely recommend you go!
i love the chobani no sugar it’s my lifesaver
that cheese and yogurt alone was enough to put you over 20 bucks 😭
😋 Chobani is the best 🎉🎉 Looks like my grocery cart 😅💜
Redo: Aldi will save a ton, learn which items in their versions you like, Trader Joe's is a slightly more pricey hack. SavALot, Winco, Costco stock on cheapest staples so you can do a different one each week. Any brands you have to have, try to wait for deep sale and stack coupons and apps. Consider this a food thrifting challenge😎 PS not sure which post my original comment was on, so hitting both
Albertsons is more on the pricier side (at least where I am) maybe a different store? Hope that helps ❤
As a previous Californian going into other states in seeing a Albertsons, they are so over price compared to Walmart and Target
Same with most people.
Are you on the west coast? I noticed Albertsons :)
Lol I was about to say, no way that cost $20. It's insane how expensive everything is now 😢
Me personally I got to a place that had both Hispanic foods and American just to beat the hassle
In my Bangladeshi house we have to get Asian groceries like sauces and veggies for dinner, Desi groceries like spices, normal grocery store groceries, and Costco groceries😭
Girl go to Aldi. I saw you grabbing that stuff and said lmao that's $50 easy.
I was gonna say Albertsons is expensive id go to Ralph's or Walmart
winco is the place to go bb!!
yeah u were crazy to hit up albertsons with only 20 bucks
Have you noticed that the Asian products in American stores taste differently than the traditional Asian versions
$45 for a bag of groceries is normal here in HI.. its actually rediculous.
If you have an ALDI please go you won’t regret it!!!
$20 wouldn’t do shit in my canadian city 😭😭
i’m as white as they come, but i go to asian grocery stores all the time specifically for the produce and mushrooms!
Im a white girl who loves all international food so i go to 3 places and occasionally 4. Never in the same day i would die
My family with Russian food :’)
That’s so much for 20 ish dollars girl, in Canada you can get one bag of milk for 20 $ (literally)

What the fuck are you on about?
To be fair you did go to the most expensive grocery store
Wow Boise Idaho interesting
😊😊😊
😢 you have to go to 2 stores! I'm so sorry 😮
it cost so much because you CLEARLY don't know how to budget shop. meh..you'll figure it out. your smart.
It cost that much because you went to albertsons lol
As much as id like to go to aldi I end up just going to the same version of what you went to here bc aldi is cool but i cant ever find everything that i need so regardless im going to be making multiple trips and ive tried enough of their brand items and most just arent good enough to want to go out of my way just to pay a bit less for things i dont really enjoy and the quality is mid. Them pennies of savings just really dont hit for me 😂 I'll pop in occasionally and be satisfied, but i couldn't shop their regularly, and walmart is just a god-awful place with no standards for anything. The way i look at it is walmart is good for everyday household items and personal care. Everything else is okay. Again, it's not worth the multiple trips in my eyes. Do what works but yall better stop talking about walmart and aldi like theyre anazing bc theyre not 😂😂
$20 left but you went to Albertsons ? 💀😭 girl pls
Of course, Albertsons is an expensive grocery store.
Doesn’t everyone shop at multiple stores not just Asians? I thought that was normal since no store carries everything you need?
Girl Albertsons what are you doing?
Yeah, because you went to Albertsons. Next time go to Aldi's.
Shop at Walmart bruh. Can’t shop at expensive stores with $20
You picked the most expensive items 😅
Its cause you went to ALBERTSONS 😢😢😢
Buy the store brand and not the name brands
Don’t shop at albertsons!!
"somehow" girl...u went to an expensive place and get expensive items
20? That's not enough for anything
That's a theft. How long are we gonna tolerate the cost of living?
$45 for 6 items???
That's not the grocery store. That's Bidenomics...
Albertsons is super overpriced
You don’t have to do anything
Sick
Joghurt is 6.50 in America???? Im so sorry americans
Meat just looks so nasty 🤮
