I didn't realise that in Bali Dewi Sri was seen as a money God. In Java she is associated with rice, which I guess is the same thing? Statues to her are now quite rare in Java, but previously all fields and homes would have one.

When you buy bottles you pay rhe same amount ,you get back later. So it's just getting back what you pay in advanced to make sure you don't waste the plastic. By the way check out the waterquality , also in Poland should be european Quality and you can drink from the tube.

Not all Sundays the shopping malls are closed in Poland, there are several exceptions (called "niedziele handlowe") during the year - the Sundays preceding Christmas, Easter and the "majówka" (the current April/May bank holiday). Actually, Sunday 28th April was a "niedziela handlowa". 🙂 On a different note - you observed that Poland "is heaven for those who like alcohol", yes it's true. Some people here even say that the number of shops selling alcohol (often 24/7) is excessive and should be limited. Those people claim that it's too easy to buy, subsequently stimulating drinking also among youngsters. I share this opinion.

They do collecting it and they make around 50k rupiah a day from that. Also true is as in Bali is A LOT of rich people actually.. way than most people think. Or rich enough at least to do not do this job

Maybe it’s more about keeping the streets clean, you don’t have to be poor to collect bottles.

@@Zoe-d3g that’s the another case. I call it still 3rd world country. Do it in Europe first people will notice and blame you second you risk big fine. 3rd is shameful. None of those rules exist there in Indonesia perhaps
