Grit Stitch - How to Crochet

Today we are going to learn how to crochet the grit stitch. This is a subtly textured stitch that uses a combination of single crochet and double crochet stitches.

    Hi Sarah. I have learned so much watching you. I am confused about this stitch I learned this stitch as a thicket or Suzette stitch. And the grit as a single crochet/single crochet in the same stitch.

    I did too. I have found there are two “grit” stitches. I think this is the “fancy” one.

    From what I researched it is the same except for how the row starts. The Suzette as I learned it, goes straight into the SC DC and the turning ch doesn’t count as anything where the Grit Stitch uses the turning ch as a stitch

    Just used this making myself a new beanie. 🧶🥰 I was amazed that it was such a simple stitch - easy to incorporate into a hat. Just added some sc rows in between to get the decreases in there. Thanks!

    I love how it looks by going in the bump instead of going thru the v part im going to try this .I learned by going thru the v stich and always having 2 stitches on hook instead one .so im going to try it and see love your tutorials

    What is the difference between the grit stitch and the Suzette stitch? Except for how each row begins, it looks the same to me. Please explain. BTW, love how this turns out, just curious about the differences.
