On the J6 hand: yeeah in this exact situation you maybe should've called more often than not - but overall I think it really shows how serious you take your own game and your ambition to go with what you think is the correct play, instead of going with complacency or emotion (like most people do). And that's honestly super inspiring to see for aspiring cash game players like us, so kudos and thank you for that man ..!

It's tough, but as pretty much said he's chopping at best and villain(being a rec) virtually has no bluffs taking that line on a super wet board with flushes and better straights

Facing an all in on that board, it’s a fold all day. At best you are chopping. You lose to all flushes, JT and T6. If you played Omaha8, you would know that you always fold when maybe you’re winning half the pot or possibly losing all. That idea holds true for holdem as well.

Great video mariano and yes your right a video that we all can relate..but i got question for you since playing at hustler compared to when you never did and playing in vegas and in cali.do you feel like you have gotten better and a tougher opponent on the felt??

Mario, can you explain to me why you would call $1,100 on the River with just top pair, yet you fold your made River straight with J-6, which would have netted a chop?? Seems of you can call a big River bet with top pair, you should almost certainly call when you hit your 1-outer (even it was a back door flush card).

It was a way different board. Calling for a chop is a losing play in the long run so it’s actually a good fold. The A9 hand he can call because his opponents don’t expect him to have an ace when he bets the flop into 2 others. They would think he had a jack.

Good poker decisions generally aren't based on absolute hand strength. Imagine a limped 5-way pot where the board comes 789TJ. Now imagine a heads up pot that was 4bet preflop and it comes 23A7J. Should we call in the first case with a 6 and fold in the second case with AK because a straight is better than a pair?

I am prefer these to the stream recaps because A. We don't see the opponent's cards, so the essence of playing poker is still there and B. The players in the Wynn $5/10/(20) are actually trying, and there's likely multiple pros in the mix. It's not Mariano and 8 people clicking buttons for luxury automobiles.

I agree in Vegas low/mid stakes poker games are extremely boring. And extremely tough. Unless you enjoy paying to park everywhere then sitting down on a regular basis with about five or six not-so-cheery looking or acting full-time players, sometimes more, who are all getting their 50-hr/week grind on...and who are all completely equipped with backpacks containing food, iPads, ear buds, and of course 10% and below VPIPs that all sit there with grand hopes and dreams in achieving their highest career (and session) goal which is to cool off a occasional tourist rec player. Living the dream

if you are behind. Which you were on the K/6 suited hand. I would of asked to run it twice. Cuz right now you are eFFed and you need ANY chance to catch a King or flush and hope to win that pot if he's called every single one of your bets you through at him. He is saying he has a pocket pair. So 10/10 on the flop, he's got 2 pair from the get go. Either way it was still entertaining and good to see for viewing pleasure.

I just want to play in a game where in a 3bet pot there's 3 players still in on the river and folding to a 2/3rds pot sized bet with A9 on J53A5 "would be ridiculous". Feels like in most games calling with A9 is a losing proposition
