Never occurred to me that what we call a popsicle, you call a lollypop. To Americans, a lollypop is a candy. A frozen juice treat is a popsicle.

Strongbow from a Brit, most Brits would agree on the lollypop thing, and would call a popsicle an ice-lolly.

How did you come about all of your tools (mechanical hammer, etc)? What advice do you have for others?

  • @AlecSteele

By making things for people in exchange for money and giving money to people for machines! eBay, Craigslist etc has helped me find a lot of great used equipment! My advice - make some money and buy some tools! I don't know how much more complex it should be 😃😃

I still question it everytime you mention the word "Lollipop" to an Australian a "Lollipop" is a hard confectionery sweet on a stick. Our term for it is either "ice-cream" or "icy-pole" Yet again, another great vlog, Alec, really enjoying the behind the scenes looks at what goes on in your workshop!

Is the IYS an organization that you can join or is it more of a event that happens every year and did you make your belt grinder

  • @AlecSteele

Im not even sure I know how best to describe it - essentially - it is a program Brian Brazeal set up and was based around giving young blacksmiths the information to be able to go and teach others how to forge metal. It happened once a year for 3 years or so. Sadly, due to insufficient funds and interest we haven't done one since!

Hey Alex I'm really enjoying your shows! Is Sam an employee? Don't they have maximum work hours in a day in UK? Or are you bringing back the old apprenticeship style slave labour? Oh and you should put the link to your new channel in your KZread channel list! Thanks for great content from Canada!
